In veterinary medicine we often only see our patients when they are sick or injured. This can be difficult for our team at times, leading to emotional and mental burn out. So we are always incredibly grateful when pet parents include us in in their milestones too!

A huge thank you to Jack's mom inviting us to celebrate in Jack's 15th Birthday! We cannot wait to play Lotería in his honor! Happy Birthday Jack!

We had so much fun at City of Rio Rancho Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department Eggs and Beggin' event this weekend! All the dogs in costume and even a puppy easter egg hunt what's not to love! We can't wait for the next one! 🐰💞🐣

We had a blast at the 2026 Doggy Dash and Dawdle this weekend! We met so many new friends and reconnected with old ones. A huge thank you to our friends at Animal Humane New Mexico for not only organizing this amazing event but for always answering the call from animals in need!

In 2025 AHNM helped us find a new home for Katie, a 13 year old cat whose owner had to enter hospice care while she was boarding at Monte Vista Pet Lodge. After we tried for months to line up a new home for her, AHNM very graciously brought her into their program and found her a new home. We know she is doing amazing with her new family!

AHNM also stepped up to the monumental task of taking on 8 puppies born to one of our patients who was too sick to care for them. Amazing foster mom Lily took on our patients puppies like they were her own! Both mom Lily and all the puppies are now available for adoption!

We look forward to 2026 bringing even more opportunities for our fellow pet and veterinary communities! We'll be at City of Rio Rancho Parks, Recreation and Community Services Departments Eggs n Beggin event at Cabezon on Saturday March 28th! We hope to see you there!

If you are looking for new opportunities in 2026 NMAH is a wonderful source of fulfilling volunteer work helping animals in our community.

We had a wonderful time at City of Rio Rancho Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department Dio de Los Perros y Gatos event! We made lots of new friends and got to see some familiar faces! Of course our ofrenda was on display to honor our passed loved ones. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi and win a prize from our new plinko board. We look forward to being out at more events in the future!

We invite you to join our ofrenda for Día de Los Mu***os. The Day of the Dead (Día de los Mu***os) celebrates the lives of deceased loved ones. It is a joyful occasion to honor, remember those that have passed on. Please bring a photo of your beloved passed pet to add to our altar. We will bring our ofrenda to Dio De Los Perros (Y Gatos) Pet Fiesta at Cabezon Park on November 1st from 10:00am - 2:00pm. All photos will be available for return. We look forward to celebrating with you and your pets!
