If you’re looking for a big, gentle trail partner, take a look at Hugo! Standing 16.2 hands, Hugo isn’t just tall—he’s wide too! Don’t let his size intimidate you; this big boy is truly a gentle giant with a heart of gold.
Hugo is a big puppy dog who absolutely loves attention. He will w/t/c, although he is more of a push ride, and his preferred pace is slow and steady. He has a soft mouth and can be ridden comfortably in nothing more than a snaffle.
Hugo has been trail ridden almost everywhere with us and is the kind of horse you can relax and enjoy the ride on. He crosses creeks, ditches, and whatever else you point him toward. If I’m looking for a quiet, relaxing trail ride, Hugo is my first pick!
He is also incredibly easy to handle. When bridling or haltering, Hugo will drop his head and let you put it right on him. He stands quietly to be mounted and is a pleasure to work around.

Hugo has been driven both single and double and has even been out in parades! Whether you’re looking for a big, quiet trail horse or a versatile driving partner, Hugo has plenty of experience to offer. His laid-back, steady attitude makes him a fun one to have around!
One look into his kind eye and you’ll see just what a sweet soul this big guy is. In the pasture, he’s low on the totem pole and is super easy to catch. And if you have a treat? Forget it—Hugo absolutely cannot resist!
