🧴 It is Medicine Monday! And it is all yellow. That is right we are talking about Furacin or Fura-zone Ointment (Nitrofurazone). Not all wound products are created equally and may be a detriment to wound healing.

💛 Nitrofurazone is a topical water-soluble ointment with antibacterial properties for superficial wounds. And it is commonly used in combination with DMSO gel as a “sweat” for horses with cellulitis. Nitrofurazone should never be used on open wounds. Research has shown that nitrofurazone inhibits wound healing by as much as 24%.

☣️Nitrofurazone is associated with carcinogenicity, defined as the potential of a biomaterial to promote tumor formation. This has led to many horse owners throwing out their supply due to this risk.

🩺 We always recommend seeking veterinary advise and an exam when it comes to wounds. Wounds may involve important structures including bone, tendon sheaths and/or joints. It is important that wounds be thoroughly examined by your veterinarian so they can recommend appropriate diagnostics, treatment options and possible referral to an equine hospital.

🎉📣We have a major announcement!📣🎉
The identity of Risen Phoenix Farm LLC-Horse boarding and lessons is permanently closed. We have sold the facility and it will take new ownership and a new name. We are moving out of the area. Since our daughters battle with cancer and upcoming Divorce, we have decided to retire from horses boarding and enjoy our family.

I hope, God willing, in the future to continue with our Hobie farm-Shetland show ponies, bees and honey, kunekune pigs, tower gardens, homemade candles, goats and cheeses. Plus other handmade items once we are established.
This page will be closing permanently, but our other page can be found by the same name. I may do remote lessons at other locations or at the homes of students.
The boarders are staying, and The new owner will be deciding what to do after.
Saying goodbye is never fun, but we know even though this is sad it’s the right thing for us now. We are very emotional but excited for the next chapter for our family.

One of our fall boarders had put a deposit down for this stall, now they are not moving to the area. So it is now available again.

Updated-
We have 2 different spaces available.
1.) pasture board with shelter. Mare only, will share with another mare. $250 self care, $350 partial care.

2) Stall -fully matted stall, shavings, fan, airy and breezy stall. Gate for when needed. Pasture turn out. $350 self, $450 partial.

Horses really love these mini barns!
Horses that normally hate stalls love these. They keep ran out and high and dry.

Dirt stall Spot has been claimed-filled within the farm. the left stall-Dirt floor with a fan, with or without group turnout . $350 self, $450 partial care. Left stall and paddock.

I have 2 -12x12 mini barns available for lease.
Each mini barn is open and airy, fan, fully mated and a rim to hold shavings in.
Each mini barn has a private 100x100 foot square lush grass paddock mixed with russel and Baha’i for longer growing seasons.
Partial or full care options.
Self care to the right person.
We are high and dry, no standing water.

Projects firing back up.
The guys have begun installing Concrete hardy board Siding on the tack room. They Will finish with vertical siding up top, having shake shingle siding on the front with a horse shoe chandelier above the door. Future space off the other side (of the tack room) for two more cross ties. Than Space for future bathroom.
Next 15x24 shelter going into front pasture, before summer, plus dirt coming to top off gateways from wear and tear.
We have grass, loads of grass, High and dry, no standing water with perfect drainage! Need shade and shelter? All out horses have both at all times. Round pen, cross ties and arena is shaded every day late afternoon.
More plans for the barn, once we are full again.
Availability- we have reservations for fall. Otherwise currently have a Stall with grass paddock available and also a space for pasture board with shelter.
