Angel Spunky for Shelter Pets

Angel Spunky for Shelter Pets I am a rescue dog who dreamed of bacon strips and snuggles! I liked car rides to Home Depot and barking at skateboarders! Hi!

I hope you can helps the animals in shelters get a fur-ever home like I got.

Hello everybody and happy Saturday/Caturday from me, Simba! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿพ It is a beautiful sunny morning here with a current temperature of 9ยฐ F, a wind speed of 9 mph with a high temperature predicted to be in the mid 20's. It is supposed to snow later this afternoon into the evening and overnight but not much snow is predicted to fall. Tomorrow starts a much needed warm up!

One of the most common questions we get asked? How is [dog name] with cats? And the answer 9 times out of 10 is, we don't know. Well Mr. Murphy here is one of the times that we can confirm that he previously lived in a home with feline friends.

Unfortunately we know that because of pretty sad circumstances. At 7 years old Murphy's life was upended when his owner passed away and he found himself at the shelter. Volunteers quickly fell for this handsome gentleman whose quiet, calm demeanor can be a bit of a rarity in the kennels. And though his long, thick Great Pyrenees + Anatolian Shepherd coat had to be shaved down (due to matting), he's got the best little tail floof and oh so cute ears to pet in the meantime.

While Murphy is one of the biggest dogs at MACC currently, clocking in at 108lbs he is also one of the best walking partners - no pulling here! Like the stoic gentleman he is, he did well in shelter playgroups, though he didn't exactly play. He is gentle and social with other dogs but wasn't sure how to move things into bestie territory after some bouncy intros. Watch him in action here: https://bit.ly/4qocQbx

Murphy will need some time to warm up and settle in to a new home. He's a sweet boy but he's been through a lot and will need a home that will let him move at his own speed (literally & figuratively). And while he is dog tested and cat approved, we do not have any information about his experiences with kids. A quieter home home might be a better fit, though not a dealbreaker. Murphy will also need regular professional grooming and an owner who will provide upkeep between appointments.

If you like 'em big, furry and kinda shy then Murphy might just be your guy. Cat or no cat ๐Ÿ˜‰

Please share! Little Dude is a special boy who is looking for a home where he will be safe and loved. This 5.4 lb Chihuahua mix came to us from a local shelter. He has a permanent head tilt that gives him a unique perspective on life. His x-rays were unremarkable and inner ear issues were ruled out so we can only speculate on what causes his head tilt. Our vet believes LD may have been born this way or perhaps had an injury long ago that healed incorrectly. Regardless, LD is not in any pain and he gets around perfectly fine. He is happy, healthy and he loves life. He enjoys the company of other small dogs. Due to his tiny size, LD needs a home without any children or large dogs who might accidentally injure him. He is a wiggle-worm when heโ€™s being held and he tends to stay right underfoot so he would not be a good match for anyone with mobility issues either. LD is only about four years old so he has may years left and lots of love to share with his new family. Apply to adopt him at www.SOHFGA.com.

Meet Logan! Logan is a 2-year-old Heeler NEEDING A JOB!
Logan has been at the shelter since May of 2025! He's been adopted before but he likes to herd kids. Why does Logan want to herd children? Because he's a herding dog!

These dogs are SO SMART! They want to please! This is why you see them many times in competitions. Logan needs a person who is willing to invest the time with him.

He'd probably make a great jogging partner! He just needs a young, active man or woman... or maybe a retired person who just wants a companion for walking. Give this guy a chance... almost a year in a shelter... is no life for a dog like Logan.

(Note: Logan, and all the dogs at the shelter, are also available to rescue.)
3217 Old Shed Road, Bossier City. 10-3:30 M-F 12-4 Sat.

A little about me.

My sissy decided to continue this page, so that she could share information about animals needing new homes.

I liked:

Going on car rides

Barking and talking about what is going on outside,
