A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the resident sheep herder! Bryan’s birthday is today and the sheep are singing loud! He keeps things going around here, reaches the tall things and carries the heavy objects ☺️. We all hope you have a wonderful baaaaarthday!!!

Sorry for spotty communication as I work with children on Thursdays. 🥴 It’s a balancing act

Unfortunately we had one of our large sheep die yesterday. We usually have the wolf sanctuary come and get our deseased animals but they have to be fresh and we can’t get to her until later today. Does anyone have a way to dig a hole for us today on our property to bury her? Thank you!

Today’s random events:
I gave the piranhas, I mean puppies, regular puppy kibble and they did great with those shark teeth!!

The hedgehog must have had a party last night!

Re-arranged the front porch but the tortoise enclosure we were using doesn’t fit out the door so that will have to be disassembled. (DaVinci went to another rescue with lots of other friends).

Had a healthy dinner with our friend’s home grown corn and it was amazing!!! Yum!!

A storm blew through and Jake got some extra snacks!

I got a new grand-cat!

Daisy cat came and laid in my lap for an hour. SHE HAS NEVER DONE THAT!!!!! This cat rarely leaves the front porch and tonight she crawled up in my lap.

I’ve learned so much over the last few years…..

1. When someone wants to donate hay you say “YES!” and figure it out later! We had an amazing woman, Shelly, from Coldwater, OH, reach out with a round bale donation. We couldn’t turn it down! Luckily these bales are lighter and we can roll them pretty easily! The horses already got one to try!

2. People who “get” animals “get it” and are just the kindest souls. Shelly and her husband, Don, loaded up this hay that they needed a place for and were just amazing humans! They own NuWave Technology in Coldwater so be sure and check them out for any technology needs!!

3. This animal community and partners….we couldn’t do it without you! It just wouldn’t be possible. We thank you with every ounce of love. 🫶🏼

We are also thankful we cleaned out the shop so we could put this load in there for now since it’s supposed to rain tomorrow.

A few months ago we had the sweetest couple reach out to us asking if we had any animals to put out on their 2 acre lot as “lawn mowers” and “weed eaters”. Absolutely! It was perfect timing to wean our littles so the mommas are on a vacation adventure (with 8 of their friends) in a very nice wooded area! We visit them every week and they look so good!! We just love this community!

Not only did help with weaning and mowing but our main pasture grass is growing back so the babies are getting fresh grass too!! It’s a win all the way around!

It was a wonderful day at the Start with Art mental health event! Charlene did an amazing job organizing the inaugural event! Dawn had some great faces to paint and our animals enjoyed all the attention! We took Crusoe, Smoky, Frank, Apollo and Lyra today!
