Congratulations to Renee’ Morris and Brandy for earning MACH 8 at today’s Talbot Kennel Club agility trial under judge Nick Carleton.

11/02/2025

Thanks to everyone that was part of the Talbot Kennel Club agility trial over the last 3 days. What a super great trial! Judge Nick Carleton was awesome and designed super fun courses. He wished every exhibitor “Good Luck and Have Fun” each time they stepped to the line. Everyone was so impressed with him. This was his first time judging in Delaware.

A big shout out to Trial Secretary Sandy Cayton Moody, Chief Course Builders Linda Syner and Pam Johnson, Volunteer Coordinator Sylvia Brownlee and Photo Booth set up and Whiners Raffle Coordinator Robin Miller Valliant. Nothing is better than the Shore agility community. Thank you to everyone that helped with course building, moving equipment, working the rings and moving the wall between rings.

Congratulations to Mike Smith and Dash for earning PACH 3 and my Brandy for earning MACH 8.

There were so many amazing runs, whether they were a Q or not.

It takes a village of people to put on trials. Thank you to everyone that volunteered!!

The trial ran so smooth.

Mark your calendars for the first Talbot Kennel Club agility trial of 2026 - February 27 - March 1 at Crown Sports Center with judge Tricia Dunseith.

Talbot Kennel Club is excited to offer a traveling AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen class, starting October 22, 2025 (6pm - 8pm). Instructor for the 3-week course is Jennieann Mitchell.

***THIS IS A TRAVEL CLASS - being held at three different locations for each 2-hour session (3-week course)***

AKC Urban CGC is a public access test that demonstrates dogs are well-behaved and well-trained when in public settings. The Urban CGC test can be used by dog- friendly businesses (e.g., lodging, retail, transportation, public facilities) to recognize and accept dogs with good manners.

Requirements to earn the AKC Urban CGC (CGCU) title, dogs must meet the following two requirements:
• Must have a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate or title on record at AKC.
• Must have an AKC number of one of 3 types (AKC registration number, Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL) number, or AKC Canine Partners number). All dogs, including mixed breeds, can get an AKC number. Each two hour class will be held at a different location.

Week 1 — The Lowes: 22880 Sussex Hwy, Seaford, DE with a walk to Concord Pet (across the parking lot)
Week 2 — Downtown Salisbury Parking Garage: 100-110 Circle Ave, Salisbury MD (must attend this class)
Week 3 — The Tractor Supply: 20952 Sussex Hwy, Seaford, DE.

At the conclusion of the course dogs will be offered the opportunity to test for the Canine Good Citizen Urban title at no additional cost. Owner is responsible for fees to registered the title with AKC.

Passing the Urban CGC test or Canine Good Citizen test does not make a dog a service dog or emotional support dog. A key distinction of service or emotional support dogs is that the owner/handler has a disability. It is unethical to misrepresent a pet dog as a service or emotional support animal.
