TKC provides puppy kindergarden, obedience, rally, handling, tracking and agility classes to our members and the community.

TKC sponsors an All-Breed Conformation and Obedience/Rally Trial and two Agility Trials annually. TKC is dedicated to the advancement of all dog breeds and encourages sportsman like competition at dog shows, trials, and events.

Talbot Kennel Club will be holding Barn Hunt practices on the following dates:

September 4, 2025 (4pm - 7pm)
September 11, 2025 (4pm - 7pm)
September 18, 2025 (4pm - 7pm)
September 24, 2025 (4pm - 7pm)
October 10, 2025 (2pm - 5pm)

Location: Spring Cove Farm, 200 Spring Cove Farm Lane, Centreville, MD

Cost:
Open & Above Level - $25 per dog for 2 runs. Multiple dogs on the same practice date is $20 each.

Novice & Introduction Level - $30 per dog for 2 runs. Multiple dogs on the same practice date is $25 each.

Pre-Registration is preferred but not required.

Talbot Kennel Club will be hosting a 3-day agility trial on October 31 - November 2, 2025 at Heartland Equestrian Center in Frederica, DE (Indoors on well groomed dirt (not climate controlled).

Judge is Nick Carleton from Andover, MA.

Looking for something fun to do with your dog? FETCH classes are so much fun for the dog and handler.

This six-week class will focus on teaching the fundamentals of fetch. In this class, the instructor (Jennie Mitchell) will cover various aspects of Fetch, including retrieving items while in motion, developing a reliable recall with possession of the item, and fostering a willingness to deliver the item to the handler. The class will progress through Novice and Intermediate levels, following the difficulty guidelines set by the AKC.

Please note that dogs must be six months or older to participate, and all breeds are welcome.

AKC Canine Good Citizen & Trick Dog Testing & Fit Walk - September 20, 2025 at the Delaware State Fair Grounds.

Talbot Kennel Club will be hosting a Special Attraction testing for Canine Good Citizen, Canine Good Citizen Advanced, Trick Dog (Novice & Intermediate), along with FIT dog at the DelMarvelous Cluster All-Breed Conformation Show, (3-day Show hosted by Talbot Kennel Club & Mispillion Kennel Club) which is behing held at the Delaware State Fairgrounds.

It is a great opportunity to test your dog's skills along with seeing many different breeds competing in the show ring.

A rosette will be offered with individual streamers for each title earned.

Talbot Kennel Club will be holding AKC Rally Run Thrus on Monday, August 25, 2025 (3:30pm - 5:30pm) at the TKC Training Center.

There will be two courses set (Master/Excellent) and (Novice/Advanced). Each entry will have 2 minutes and 30 seconds to complete the course (or work on specific areas). You can run the same dog for an additional session at a reduced cost.

Run Thrus are open all, so feel free to share.

Looking to take your dog to the next step from Family Dog to learning the foundations for heeling and obedience? TKC offers a great bridge class - Intro to Competition Obedience.

The next 6-week session begins Wednesday, July 2, 2025 (12pm-1pm), taught by instructor Jennie Mitchell.

This is a great class for novice teams and experienced handlers that want to work their dog in a training environment.

Talbot Kennel Club is excited to offer a 2-day Scent Work Seminar, featuring AKC Scent Work Judge Lori Kobayashi. The seminar will be held August 2 - 3, 2025 at the TKC Training Building in Ridgely, MD and offer three different sessions and topics.

Participants can sign up for one or mutiple sessions. Registration is based on one team (dog and handler).

Lori is a well-known and respected AKC Scent Work judge. She has judged several trials on the Eastern Shore and throughout the country. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Scent Work field.

Registration is open to Talbot Kennel Club members first, then first received.

Cost is per seminar.

Pre-registration is required. Registration is now open.

Payment must be received to reserve spot.

Indoor crating available to dogs registered in the seminar.
