In today's world,
both for our dogs and for ourselves,
we're constantly looking for new ways
to feel good,
improve our mood,
relieve stress and tension,
sleep better,
and have a calm and clear head.

The newest techniques,
relaxation exercises,
supplements,
medications,
gadgets…

Few believe in,
and few try,
the simplest and most accessible things…
for both our dogs and ourselves:
✅ structure (rules and daily routines);
✅ regular exercise;
✅ contact with nature;
✅ healthy food;

When working with difficult dogs,
I often see owners drowning in emotions:
shame,
a sense of failure,
embarrassment.

And sometimes,
even before the dog can do anything,
I hear: "I'm sorry!"
And I always respond the same way:
you don't have to apologize.

Yes, sometimes a dog "marks" me.
I recently joked that
it was the dog's signature.
The owner was initially embarrassed,
but it was just a scratch.

And you know what?
This isn't a reason to be ashamed
or hide your dog from the world.
It's simply part of the process.
So leave the apologies at the door.

Your role isn't shame or guilt,
but a willingness to move forward
and fight for a better life with your dog.
Because every dog,
even a "difficult" one,
deserves a chance
and someone who believes in them 🫶🏻

It's important to consider
dog's preferences in relation to yours
and try to find a balance between the two.

My clients often have gotten a dog
planning to take them everywhere,
be friends with everyone
and be bomb proof as well,
and when confronted with a shy or reactive dog
they continue to swim against the current,
rather than embracing the situation
and the dog they actually have.

You can bring your dog the same delight
by giving them more distance from other people and dogs on your walks,
skipping the farmers market for a quiet walk in nature.

The dog will still have to do plenty of things they would rather not,
that is normal and necessary for cohabitation with a human,
but you may find your life together a little easier
if you consider their actual preferences
rather than your desired ones for them 🫶🏻

1. One of my dogs can be reactive.
She doesn't like when dogs approach her.
I taught her how to walk away from such situations,
but if another dog is persistent
she can escalate into an attack.
She has a few dog friends,
but otherwise she avoids interactions and encounters.

2. I'm somewhat wary of dogs.
Seriously.
I'm cautious and attentive when working with dogs.
Not because I'm incompetent,
but because I don't have a huge ego
and I know that every dog can bite,
because they have a different story,
a different past, and different boundaries.

3. I don't like when dogs jump on me and lick me.
Many people often think it's an expression of joy and affection,
but in reality it's just the result of pent up energy
and I don't like when the dog is unloading it on me.

4. Sometimes I don't know how to help the dog.
There are behaviors that are very difficult to work through.
There are situations where I feel stuck,
that I have no ideas,
that I'm not sure if what we're doing is enough.
Then I keep looking,
seek support from my mentors,
or refer my clients to someone who might know more.

5. I'm not a fan of puppies.
I definitely prefer working with adult dogs.
Puppies are adorable, but they're definitely not "mine".

6. There are days when I wish I had a different job,
a more stable one.
Where I finish and I can turn off my thoughts.
But then the dog comes along.
And everything makes sense again 🥰

I wholeheartedly admit
that my first two dogs
weren't exactly well-thought-out decisions.

Hi, my name is Natalia!
And I love to see how a dog changes
when their human finally receives not only guidance
but also understanding.
This is the meaning of my work.

I'm not "another trainer from Instagram".
I'm not interested in copying other people's programs.
I also don't have the need to "convince everyone".

I do what I do the best I can:
I help with empathy,
knowledge, and honesty…
although sometimes I may be very blunt 🫣

And now a question for you —
if you're already here,
I'm really interested in your opinion:
👉🏻 what do you most look for in support with your dog?
➡️ 1:1 sessions?
➡️ Group classes?
➡️ Pack walks?
➡️ Board & train?

Leave a comment or message me!

🫶🏻 Thanks for being here,
even if you sometimes frown
because my posts touch sensitive subjects 😉
