Meet Riwaka and Mosaic (aka Ri Ri and Mo Mo)! 🐾🐾

These girls are the perfect puppy package and they're looking for foster homes or foster to adopt homes! They are great with other dogs, cats, and children. Riwaka is the more timid sister, but she will be your best friend once she warms up! Mosaic is super smart and eager to make new buddies! Both girls are doing well with crate and potty training, but still have plenty of room to grow. 🩷

Riwaka and Mosaic are believed to be Beagle/Terrier mixes. Riwaka has some Terrier scruffiness, while Mosaic has more hound-like features. They are 4 months old as of 9/5 and are scheduled to get spayed at the end of this month.

Coco was lost around the Benson Drive area off of Irvine Rd. this morning! She is ear tipped but not microchipped. Please keep your eyes peeled for this sweet baby and help her make her way back home 💔 if you see her or manage to catch her, contact her momma, Christy, at 202-677-1403.

All of our furry babies want to give a huge shoutout to Stephen Delaney from The Shih Shed Pet Grooming for his generous donations today! They are so happy for more food of course and all the caretakers are so grateful for the cleaning supplies! Thank you so much Stephen!

Hey, friends, we have another special case we need some help with! ❤️‍🩹

This is Bugs Bunny, named by the daughter of the person who brought him in, because "no one should die without a name." Bugs was in rough shape - skinny, lethargic, parasite-riddled, and with a badly wounded leg. We swooped Bugs off to the vet and found that not only was the leg broken, but that there was nerve damage as well. We wanted to give him every chance to keep it, so we tried a week of binding it and letting it heal.

Unfortunately, the leg did not recover, and had to be amputated. (Shout out to RVC, they did a great job!) Now, Bugs is with one of our best fosters, and totally thriving. Without his bad leg holding him back, he's become a normal active, happy kitten. Once he's healed up, he will be ready for adoption!

All told, the vet bill ran about $700. We would really appreciate any donations towards Bugs' care. Anything extra will of course go right back into the program to help other special cases like Bugs!

Our center will be CLOSED today (8/9). We will have a booth set up at the Hops & Vines festival by Apollo's Pizza from 2-8pm - come out and see us and our adoptable pups!!
