Humane Society, Animal League for Life of Madison County, KY The Humane Society A.L.L. is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), no-kill organization composed of all volunteers.

We are devoted to the prevention of animal cruelty and the betterment of all animals in our community. Our Board of Directors meets monthly to insure these goals are met. Our group is focused on providing our community with affordable spaying and neutering services via our Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic. Our No-Kill Adoption Program is a foster-home based rescue network utilizing volunteers to keep p

ets safe until they are permanently adopted. We do NOT have a traditional shelter and therefore cannot accept animals without an appointment. We do have an adoption center where many of our animals are showcased for adoption and it is open on Saturdays between 12-5pm We are located at 128-C Big Hill Avenue, Richmond, KY. We also support and promote the humane sterilization of feral cats through TNR (Trap, Neuter, and Return). We do not provide traditional animal control services, do not employ animal control officers, and should not be confused with the county animal shelter. We are not affiliated with the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), Peta, the ASPCA, or any other organization. These are all large organizations that address animal welfare issues on a national level. If you donate to those organizations, that is all well and good, but your donation to them will not support the Humane Society Animal League for Life.

Fall 2026 Drive-Thru Pet Vaccine Clinic 🐾

Madison County Animal Care and the Madison County Health Department will host a drive-thru vaccine clinic this fall, offering a convenient, low-cost way to help keep your pets protected and up to date on their vaccinations.

Low-cost vaccines and microchipping will be available for:
• Dogs
• Cats
• Ferrets

🚗 This drive-thru format offers a quick and convenient way to take care of your pet’s health without leaving your vehicle.

Pets must be leashed or in carriers.

Meet Thumbelina 🌼 I was so happy to have the opportunity to offer a free groom to this little Yorkie for Humane Society, Animal League for Life of Madison County, KY. She is one of their foster pups currently waiting for a forever family, and let me tell you, you NEED this sweet princess in your life 🥰💖

She was giving me all the kisses during her bath and wanted nothing more than to be snuggled up in my lap! We even got some couch cuddles in afterwards and she was so content just chilling and watching tv. She really is the perfect little girl!! 🥰

We get texts and emails every day for people asking for help with other low cost clinics. This is a list that we've compiled of places all over Kentucky (in no particular order) that are available for you to reach out to about getting assistance. Their contact information can easily be found on Facebook or with a quick google search.

Our waitlists may be longer than you'd hoped for, but with a little leg work, you might be able to find a place that can get you in sooner!

Local Vibes this year with music by Thumper and the Plaid Rabbits, Rhythm Phoenix, Pet That Yeti, and Southern Rock Revival.

More than ten local breweries, and local food from Apollo Pizza, House of 'Cue BBQ & Catering, Holler Burger, and Poppy's Ice Cream.

We’ll also have local arts and crafts vendors.
