This piece was written by our Associate Creative Director, Jenna Weidner.

I don’t know about you, but I am so sick of hearing about AI.

“Are you scared that you’re going to lose your job?”
“Can’t it, like, do everything you do, but better?”
“Are we all going to be robots in 20 years?”

But for me, the strategic question isn’t whether to use AI — it’s how we use it.

As brands like Coca-Cola (who have totally butchered my beloved polar bear commercials: https://bit.ly/4o90VfM) lean again and again into AI-generated content, the real opportunity for humans lies in the messy, meaningful — and yes — human ideas that machines still struggle to make.

My takeaway: The real magic is pairing AI-driven efficiency with the human spark. Let machines handle the heavy lifting (scaling, variants, testing). But keep the humans (who, let me remind you, are the home team) in the driver’s seat: doing the storytelling, the emotion, the cultural nuance — those things that still carry weight.

What’s a recent ad/campaign you loved that felt “human first”?
