Have you donated to HRS this year? Many workplaces will match your charitable donations to qualifying nonprofit organizations like HRS. Some will even match your volunteer hours! Use our employer match tool to see if your employer participates. Visit houserabbit.org/donate to get started (scroll to the middle of the page). If your employer isn't listed, ask your HR representative to consider adding HRS to their match program.

Through our partnership with FreeWill, we can also now accept gifts of stock, donations from donor-advised funds (DAFs), IRAs, and even cryptocurrency, if you would like to support HRS in a different way. Our impact is only possible because of the kindness of donors like you, however you choose to give.

Meet Lulu and Lyle, a young, bonded pair who balance shyness with bursts of play and adventure. Give them lots of time and love and you’ll see their silly side.

Lulu is the brave explorer of the duo. Lyle sometimes follows his sister’s lead but often prefers to do his own thing. Together, they bring out the best in each other. They have the most adorable snuggle sessions.

These two are playful, inquisitive, and very food motivated. They go crazy for treats and sometimes steal snacks or hay from one another. They’ll happily unstack cups with you, though they prefer to play solo. They also love to zoom, especially in the early mornings when they can get noisy as they chase each other around.
Being young rabbits, they are still working on their litter box habits and can need some extra spot cleaning from time to time.

If you are ready to give a little extra time to a pair of young rabbits, Lulu and Lyle will reward you with love, laughter, and endless zoomies.

Lulu and Lyle are spayed and neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated against RHDV2 (vaccine needs to be administered annually). House Rabbit Society recommends all rabbits see a rabbit-savvy veterinarian once a year.

Submit an adoption application for Lulu and Lyle at houserabbit.org. House Rabbit Society is in Richmond, California, just north of San Francisco. Questions? Email [email protected] and we'll be happy to talk more with you!

"Fostering changes lives, sometimes in ways you don't expect." 💗 One of our incredible foster volunteers shares their experience and the real impact fostering has on rabbits in need. Read the blog post and learn how you can make a difference in the life of a shelter rabbit this holiday season: houserabbit.org/updates/2025-december-fostering The last day to pick up a foster rabbit before Christmas is this Sunday, December 21!

After recently adopting my amazing Johnny Wohnny from House Rabbit Society (HRS), I’d love to share my experience fostering him, as well as how fostering some bunnies can benefit you, too!

Lou Seal is a gentle bunny who earned the nickname “London Fog” from his foster family because his soft, thick fur looks just like a cozy cup of earl gray tea with steamed milk.

At first, Lou Seal can be shy and calm, taking his time to warm up. But with a patient caregiver who enjoys quiet company and gentle play, he steadily blossoms into a more outgoing, affectionate companion. Once he trusts you, he becomes wonderfully attached and enjoys simply being near his people.

London loves calm couch time and long, soothing petting sessions. His little ears perk up and listen to everything around him, and his sweet, demure personality makes him an easy bunny to fall in love with. He’s also a tidy gentleman — perfectly litter box trained, neat with his food and water, and a reliable hay eater.

Lou Seal would be a perfect match for someone looking for a mellow, snuggly rabbit who will bond closely with his forever family. With time and love, he’ll become your loyal little shadow and best friend.

If you’re looking for a calm, sweet bunny to share quiet moments and gentle snuggles with, Lou Seal may be your perfect match.

Lou Seal is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated against RHDV2 (vaccine needs to be administered annually). House Rabbit Society recommends all rabbits see a rabbit-savvy veterinarian once a year.

*Fahrenheit and Celsius are a bonded pair and must be adopted together* (To tell the two apart: Fahrenheit has a white nose.)

Celsius is a sweet girl who enjoys her bestie Fahrenheit and the occasional pets. She is more ‘chill’ than Fahrenheit in her day to day, watching him hop circles around her and munching on hay while she flops and waits for his snuggles. Celsius is also more brave than Fahrenheit and will say hello to new people so that Fahrenheit can feel more comfortable as well as he can be shy to new people - Celsius will ‘warm’ up to new people first, but she still asks for patience as she can be shy.

Fahrenheit is a calm and hungry friend to Celsius - his ‘european’ temperature partner! Fahrenheit is a chill rabbit who enjoys snuggling with Celsius and eating lots of greens. He is a bit more shy than his counterpart but he ‘warms’ up quick if he sees her getting along well with new people. And he always enjoys munching on hay while Celsius takes a nap!

Fahrenheit and Celsius are neutered/spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated against RHDV2 (vaccine needs to be administered annually). House Rabbit Society recommends all rabbits see a rabbit-savvy veterinarian once a year.

Submit an adoption application for Fahrenheit and Celsius at houserabbit.org. House Rabbit Society is located in Richmond, California, just north of San Francisco. Questions? Email [email protected] and we'll be happy to talk more with you!

Meet Joker, a lively and curious rabbit who keeps his foster family entertained with his playful antics and sweet habits. Joker is great with children, and his foster’s toddler loves hand-feeding him leafy greens. He prefers to eat his veggies right out of someone’s hand, which has been especially sweet for the kids. Joker enjoys gentle pets and even hops onto feet or legs when he’s feeling brave.

Joker has energy to spare. His foster describes “acrobatic binkies and zoomies” as he darts across the rug, climbs on baskets and flowerpots, and investigates any toy, puzzle, or piece of laundry that lands on the floor. He loves to sniff, grab toys with his teeth, and pull them around like treasures. Hardwood floors are not his thing, but the second you step onto the rug, he comes running to greet you with quick, quiet excitement.

Joker has a big personality and a routine that keeps his foster family smiling. In the morning, he rattles his cage to let everyone know he’s awake, then zooms and binkies until he gets his greens and pellets. He naps in the afternoon, enjoys more food and playtime in the evening, and watches the children get ready for bed before starting another round of nighttime zoomies.

With his tuft of hair, his playful spirit, and his love of treats, Joker is both adorable and full of character. He’s a rabbit who demands attention, food, and fun, and he’ll bring joy to any home ready to keep up with his energy and affection.

Cora and Clarence are a bonded pair full of personality, curiosity, and charm. These two adorable siblings love exploring their world together, cheering each other on, and learning to trust the humans in their lives.

Cora is the brave, bouncy leader of the pair — she does some of the highest, most joyful binkies you’ll ever see, often springing straight up from a standstill! Clarence follows her lead, watching her for cues before deciding something is safe. Once he’s confident, though, he becomes the bold explorer, checking out new spaces, climbing to interesting spots, and even retrieving treats from shelves to share with his sister.
They’re both still timid with new people and children, but they warm up with patience (and treats!). Shake a treat bag and they’ll come flying across the room, zooming around your feet, circling your toes, or popping up on their hind legs to politely ask for snacks. With people they know, they’ll happily run over to say hello, accept pets while munching treats, and hang out nearby — Clarence especially likes to plop down just out of reach so he can watch everything happening around him.

Cora and Clarence are incredibly sweet with one another. Cora loves grooming her brother and will nuzzle under his chin to ask for her turn. Clarence often tries to nuzzle back first, but eventually gives in and returns the affection. Watching their gentle communication is a joy.

This pair has BIG energy and BIG appetites! They love chew toys (especially wood), flipping cups, zooming, chasing each other, and grabbing objects to start little “come chase me!” games. They’re enthusiastic about hay, pellets, greens, water — and treats, always. They're active in the mornings and evenings, with naps sprinkled throughout the day like true bunnies.

Cora and Clarence do best in a patient, bunny-savvy home that understands the quirks of young, curious rabbits. They’re still working on tidy litter habits and will need an adopter who can bunny-proof well and provide lots of appropriate chewing options. They also enjoy rearranging their space — including collapsing their sleeping box with great enthusiasm.

Most importantly, they are incredibly sweet souls learning to trust. Each day, they grow braver: Cora is now enjoying gentle pets, and Clarence is starting to allow a few too. With time, consistency, and love, they will blossom into wonderful companions who adore both each other and their humans.

If you’re looking for a lively, loving, endlessly entertaining pair who will greet you with excitement and fill your days with joyful chaos, Cora and Clarence may be your perfect match.
