Woof, woof, your attention, please!!: The Walk-Abouts pack is full! Because Walk-Abouts is a sole-proprietorship, I am unfortunately limited in the amount of clients I can take on. While I would love to fall in love with all of the world's furbabies, I have made the tough decision to cut back on clients and continue to turn down new clients for the remainder of 2022. This allows me to provide the best possible care to my current clients who have supported my business throughout the COVID crisis. If/when this changes, I will announce openings. Until that time, I appreciate you helping me keep Walk-Abouts your best-kept secret!

Usually my job is pretty awesome, but last week sucked. In the same day, I received word that my Kitty friend, Gigi (not pictured), went to the rainbow bridge, and then that my good buddy, Sparky, lost his battle with cancer. No dog deserves this battle, but Sparky was too young and too sweet for this outcome. He was without a doubt one of the mildest mannered dogs I’ve ever had the pleasure to care for. He loved his walk-abouts and tolerated me calling him “Mr. Sparkles” and “Sparkle Pony”. Of course, my sadness is nothing compared to that of their families, and my thoughts are with them this week.

Sparkles, I’ll carry you in my heart for always, like you carried me in yours 💔🌈

PSA: it is OKAY to muzzle your dog in stressful or uncomfortable situations.

It doesn’t mean they’re a bad dog. It means you are aware there are triggers and as a pet owner it’s your job to protect your dog from making the wrong choice.
I much rather be safe than sorry. She’s an 84 lb Pit and if something went wrong, we all know who would be to blame. I know if she could , Prentice would thank me for caring beyond what others judge because the world already scares her enough.

It’s our job to be their advocate. But be smart about how and when you use it, it should be about what is best for them.
