I have been grooming in and around Madison county for the last ten years, after graduating from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Animal Studies and a focus on behavior. I routinely continue my education both in grooming and animal behavior. Originally from Louisville, I fell in love with Madison County while in school and made it my home!
I actively compete in dog sports such as Conformation, Rally Obedience, Fast Cat and other activities with my dogs. I raise Standard Poodles and also adore my Curly Coated Retriever and our little rescue dog adopted from the Madison shelter!
I specialize in Curly coated breeds such as Poodles and Bichons, breed trims and hand stripping. I look forward to taking care of your pets!

Hello everyone, I am Kylie, the proud new owner of The Shih Shed, where dreams come alive. As a native of Richmond, I have always cherished this city as my home, regardless of where life's journey took me. I pursued a career as a human hairstylist, unlocking my creativity. However, in 2015, I discovered my true calling lay in pet grooming. I moved to Wi******er, where I successfully owned and operated a pet grooming salon for 10 years, earning Best Pet Groomer of Wi******er multiple times. My expertise shines brightly when grooming schnauzers, and I have a special love for chihuahuas, whose big attitudes bring me joy.

A few years ago, my family and I made the decision to return to Richmond, where I wanted to raise my daughter in a community I love, with all the opportunities it has to offer. I was fortunate to join The Shih Shed at a time when Stephen was moving on to pursue new endeavors, and I am grateful for this opportunity. I appreciate your patience during this transition and look forward to providing exceptional care to the pets of my hometown for years to come.

Katie was such a star today 💛

At 11 with arthritis, she doesn’t love having her feet handled, but patience made all the difference. We took it slow, followed her lead, and she did amazing.
