Renegade was racing back to me when playtime was over. She’s doing great now and is the queen of Milo’s area. She rules the roost soundly and Milo doesn’t mind a bit.

Milo is always stealing toys from the big yard to bring back to his area. He’s such a smart boy. He has so many toys lol. He’s one of our owner surrendered sanctuary residents. He’s 11-12 years old now. I love this boy!!

Caldwell is quite the chewer. Crystal left the hose too close to his run and he drug it in and destroyed it. It was a new hose I had just bought this spring 😞 I added one to our Amazon wish list and more bones, treats, etc in case anyone wants to help us replace and get him some bones to help keep him entertained. 🤞

Our rescues howl in the evenings. I’ve been out there before when it’s going on and usually it’s in response to sirens or coyotes. They truly seem to enjoy the howling. They go up to each other and wag their tails or have submissive language depending on who they are going towards and they bark, yip, howl. I think it reinforces their bonds as a pack/family. They may not all be friends, but they are all part of the same family when it comes to howling and claiming our space as theirs against those coyotes or sirens lol.

A dog's howl is either cute or startling. Reasons why they're howling may be because they are lonely, have anxiety or it's just a primal instinct.

Clyde (the tan and white) is such an awesome dog. This was his first time meeting Tavi face to face and he was so excited to play with another dog. Clyde adores people, other dogs, and life. This boy was part of the cruelty/neglect case in Hideaway Lakes. He nearly didn’t survive. He will be starting his heartworm injections soon. Anyone willing to foster him and keep him calm for the next 2 months? Photos in comments on him before 💔

I see so many animals in need posts. Day in day out. Phone calls from people, etc. We are swamped. But sometimes we can find a way to help. Some male cats will get urinary blockages that can kill them. Can you imagine how uncomfortable that must be, and the suffering they feel as time passes and the blockage stays? Cats are pros at hiding pain. So by the time a human will notice it’s usually very advanced. Treatment for this isn’t cheap 😞. Tonight I saw the post in a KC cat help and reached out to a supporter to see if we can help. The cat is currently being hospitalized and tomorrow he will be transferred to woodlands for more treatment. Tonight visit was covered, but we could use some help for tomorrow’s bill.

Well, we were nearly scammed. A lady reached out about making a donation but the wording was a bit off. She mailed the check, but it’s for more than the $2k she had pledged. I’ve heard of scams targeting non profits where they send you a check for more and then ask for money back…and it turns out the check was invalid. I called the bank to verify and the account number is not legitimate. Sucks! We were so excited to be getting $2000 to help with the rescue. All well, at least I didn’t try to deposit it!

I’m under restrictions until July 8th (recovering from surgery). My mom has been doing the rescue dog play time, feeding, cleaning, etc. Domino loves to jump on her and waits for his next opportunity. Saturn feels safe enough to run right thru her legs to get back inside lol. So grateful to my mom for helping!! ❤️
