Any buyer, no matter where you get the pup should do their due diligence prior and after the purchase:
1. Ask for and check breeder referrals (like vet, and at least 2 past buyers ) before making a deposit.
2. Ask for regularly scheduled photos and ask questions of what stages /heath treatments are happening as the pup ages. (So you have an idea of how well the pup is being taken care of).
3. Ask for a written guarantee so you can read it and know your limits.
At pickup day:
1. Check gums, behavior, skin and conformation prior to the final payment (is hair shiny, are there fleas, is pup "sad/tired" looking, is the pup shaped well or way to big or disproportionate). Better to lose a deposit then the whole amount on a bad deal.
2. Already schedule your vet checkup date before pick up.
Have your new pup vet checked within 3-5days of pick up to avoid:
1. sudden loss of pup, which is disappointing.
2. extreame health issues, which are expensive.
3. your breeder claiming any health issues were your fault or that you have passed your warranty date.
