If you’ve ever visited the clinic, chances are you’ve been graced with Kahlo’s presence. Whether she allowed you the honor of petting her, judged you from the front desk, or simply reminded you that you are, in fact, worthy of existing in her clinic — you’ve experienced the magic.

Some say CCAC stands for Canyon Creek Animal Clinic… but we all know the truth:

Mr. Brady had his very first puppy visit (a literal baby milestone 🥹), Ellie came in for her vaccines like the brave little queen she is, and Casper was getting his paw treated — because we take care of our sweet babies around here.

Shoutout to Casper’s owner, , for letting us share his cuteness ✨

❄️ Cold Weather Safety for Pets ❄️
With winter weather moving in, here are a few quick reminders to help keep your pets safe 🐾

• Tap your car hood or honk before starting — warm engines can attract cats and small animals
• Wipe paws after walks to remove ice melt, salt, and chemicals
• Consider a sweater or coat — fur doesn’t make pets immune to the cold
• Keep antifreeze and other winter chemicals out of reach
• Limit time outdoors and keep potty breaks short

Sweet Lionel got his teeth all nice and clean earlier this week 🦷✨ He absolutely loves being held like a baby by our sweet surgery tech, Rose. Start the new year off right by scheduling your pet’s dental so they can feel fresh, healthy, and renewed too!

Happy Friday, Canyon Creek Community!

Please help us welcome our new veterinarian - Dr. Melody Montes! We are so excited to add her to our amazing team of doctors.

Dr. Melody Montes began her journey in veterinary medicine as a veterinary assistant while in high school. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University, she was accepted to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she deepened her knowledge and passion for veterinary medicine and conservation. She completed her clinical year at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University and graduated in 2020 before returning to the DFW area as a small animal veterinarian.

Dr. Montes strives to create a calm, stress-free experience for every pet and to strengthen the bond between pets and their owners. Her professional interests include internal medicine and ultrasound, and she is dedicated to providing the highest level of care for all her patients.

At home, she shares her life with four rescue dogs - Dally, Isaac, Elijah, and Peter - who keep her on her toes. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and holds Fear Free certification.
