As with thunder and lightning, fireworks displays are unpredictable and cause a lot of confusion for our pets. Cats and dogs can't understand what is happening when they hear fireworks, which instinctively triggers their fight-or-flight response to unknown threats.⁠

Today we’d like to take a moment to appreciate the superhuman, mom, and doctor we all know and love — Morgan Ferrell.

We hosted her goodbye party last week, and between the tears and laughter, we were able to reminisce on so many memories this clinic holds within its walls. Dr. Ferrell has touched every single one of our lives in ways words can’t fully describe, and the impact she’s made at CCAC will stay with us forever.

Just a friendly reminder: she will continue coming in one Saturday a month through November — so she’s not truly gone just yet. Let’s not get too sad too soon.

Every single person at CCAC loves Dr. Ferrell deeply, and we are beyond grateful for everything she’s done for this team, our clients, and their pets. ❤️

After over 10 years of heartfelt care with us, Dr. Ferrell will be transitioning away from our practice as she and her family relocate to another city. Her last day as a full-time team member will be Monday, June 1, but we're glad she will be continuing to work with us for occasional dates into the fall. While we are incredibly sad to see her go, we fully support this next chapter for her and her family.

Dr. Ferrell has been a valued part of our practice and she built meaningful relationships with so many of you, your families, and your beloved pets.

"Caring for you and your pets has truly been one of the greatest privileges of my career. This decision to relocate was not made lightly, and it comes with a great deal of sadness to say goodbye. Please know that this change is not due to any dissatisfaction or unhappiness. This team is one I trust wholeheartedly, and I have complete confidence in their ability to continue providing exceptional care for your pets. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives and for the trust you’ve shown me over the years. It has meant more to me than I can express.”

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms out there — human moms, pet moms, bonus moms, and every nurturing soul in between. 💐

Being a mother is about so much more than biology. It’s the late nights, the worry, the patience, the comfort, the protection, and the unconditional love that makes someone feel safe in this big, sometimes overwhelming world.

Whether your family is built through blood, friendship, fur, or choice, today is about celebrating the people who show up with compassion and care every single day. The ones who remember the little things, give the best hugs, and somehow always know when something’s wrong. (Honestly, it’s a superpower.)

We’re especially grateful for the amazing moms on our team who bring that same kindness and dedication to the people and pets they care for every day. ❤️
