Recently we had a very scary experience with Evelyn's dog, Misty.

She went in for a routine spay last week on Tuesday. We got home that evening, she was crated for the night, but we woke up to blood in her crate.

Wednesday turned into a day of not knowing if we were going go be bringing Evelyn's dog home alive from the emergency vet.

She had a slipped ligature on her right ovarian pedicle, and was bleeding out internally.

Thanks to the quick work of the vet and staff, they saved her life.

Her post op blood work was very low, but as of Monday this week her values are climbing, she is back to acting herself.

It's been an emotional 7 days but we are so grateful she is home and alive.

We need to get some treats moved out.

We have rabbit hide, feet & arms, and ears.

Have you ever had a 'sign' that a pet was meant to be yours?

​We are thrilled to officially introduce the newest addition to the kennel, Mavis, a spirited 5-month-old Alaskan Husky.

​Her arrival feels like a true "meant-to-be" moment. While attending the Fluffy Butts Pet Expo as a vendor, we found ourselves unexpectedly stationed right next to her breeder. After spending the weekend getting to know her and having many long discussions, we knew she was the perfect fit for our family and our team.
​For those who have followed our journey for a while, you know how much our first husky mix, Katara, meant to us. When she passed away in 2022, Emilie saw a flock of swans for the very first time, a moment that stayed with her as a powerful symbol of peace and transition, and Katara saying goodbye.

​In a beautiful twist of fate, Emilie saw her second-ever flock of swans while heading into the second day of the expo. On the drive back home to Wisconsin with Mavis, she lost count of how many swans appeared in the fields along the way. It felt like a clear sign that Katara was watching over us, guiding this new girl into our lives.
​Mavis, named after the adventurous vampire girl from Hotel Transylvania, is already settling in beautifully. We can’t wait to see her grow, learn the ropes, and eventually join the line.

Happy national purebred dog day!

Out of our 8 dogs, we have 3 purebred Siberian Huskies.

Koga, our 2 year old male and one of the dogs we plan to race 2 dog and 1 dog bikejor next dryland season.

Kaiya, our 5 year old female who belongs to Emilia, our youngest daughter, and enjoys doing kid sled rides at races. Kaiya is retired from racing after this season.

Misry, our 6 year old show line from Liberty Siberians in Wisconsin.

Misty belongs to our oldest daughter Evelyn, who has Cerebral Palsy and is wheelchair bound.

Evelyn and Misty participate in Weight Pull together and also enjoy doing kid sled rides together.

We had a great time vending at Fluffy Butts this past weekend.

The kids enjoyed shopping at other vendors as well.

Evelyn and Emilia both got a lot of goodies and new collars/dog swag for their pet dogs.

The dogs we had participate were

Zuko
Kodama
Misty
And Betelgeuse.

Betelgeuse is still young so he was only allowed to pull 3x his own weight but did it with ease.

Zuko pulled just under 1,300lbs
Kodama pulled just under 1,200lbs
Misty pulled 200+ with Evelyn and 700+ with Emilie

We cannot remember exact numbers off the tops of our heads, but we are proud of our dogs and kids to say the least.

We brought back a new addition to the pack as well, our 2nd Alaskan Husky.

We are selling treats at our very first event as a business whille competing in the Fluffy Butt Hefty Haul competition hosted by Twin Cities Dog Powered Sports!!

Our old girl!

For those who don't know, Korra is our oldest dog at the kennel.

She just turned 8 years old on the 15th.

While Emilie was living in North Carolina, she picked up Korra as a very young puppy from a couple that had an accident litter of puppies.

She is half German Shepherd, and the rest is Siberian Husky, Boxer and Staffordshire Terrier (in that order).

Despite her breed mix and origin, she is one heck of a working dog with a solid structure and nice long legs.

She is a dog I am hoping to get into a mid distance race in the next couple of years as I aquire more real racing dogs and phase out of pet dogs before she retires.

Yesterday we had all 8 dogs in the basement with us.

A tornado touched own nearby, we first got the Kids in the basement and than the dogs went down the steps like a waterfall.

It was a beautiful day yesterday!

Betelgeuse got out for some bikejoring for the first time, and he did great!
