Alex grew up on the island of Kauai, where he developed a love for horses at a very young age on his family's ranch. Cutting was a family tradition and his father was quick to let him start showing and spend time with some top hands before finishing school. When Alex decided to become a horse trainer and turn in his non pro card, he took a job as an assistant to Ronnie Rice at Center Ranch. There
over the next few years, he cultivated his passion for cutting horses and learned from one of the best mentors a young trainer could ask for. His second time showing in the open he managed to make the 2013 Superstakes 4 year old open finals and lmtd open finals. It was not long after, that he was approached by the owner of War Ranch to run his training operation and promote his stallion War Bird Dog. He managed to make numerous lmtd finals and an open semi final at the 2015 Superstakes on his offspring, as well as the lmtd open finals at the 2015 Summer Spectacular. Alex also made the 4yr old open semi finals and lmtd open finals at the Super Stakes in 2017. In 2018 Alex bought his own facility and starts and trains 2yr olds for the public. Alex is now located in between Rhome and Decatur Tx off of 287 in his own facility. His place includes stalls, pasture turn outs with covers, a covered arena, an outdoor arena, flag, cattle and a panel walker. Alex specializes in 2yr olds, starting and training their whole 2yr old year. Cutting Horse Trainers that Alex trains for to name just a few Ronnie Rice, James Payne, Lee François, Josh Townson.
