A word to the wise. With temps In the 80's for the opening bow week as well as bear season, be sure to take care of your hide just as you take care of the meat!
Bacteria begins to grow at the moment of death and multiplies very fast as long as it is above 40 degrees!
Get that hide off immediately and get it in a refrigerator or freezer. It is also very important to keep it DRY! Any moisture will just compound the problem. Without proper care all hides have the potential for a great deal of hair slippage or complete spoilage. 😕

This is why you should never store your trophy fish wrapped in newspaper!
Instead, wrap in a wet towel, place in plastic bag in freezer. A word to the wise...
