Petunia is a doll. She is very affectionate once she settles in. Please consider the older cats when you're looking for someone new. Kittens always get snatched up right away and the older cats are overlooked. This girl is the sweetest!!

Petunia’s story is one of healing, love… and a little unexpected detour along the way.

This sweet girl first came to Options Veterinary Care last fall with a leg injury. Thanks to one of our incredible fosters (and lots of TLC 💕), she healed beautifully with antibiotics, pain meds, and plenty of cozy care. Once she was cleared, she found a home of her own.

Fast forward to now… and Petunia is back with us, ready for her next chapter. Think of it as a little “vacation” while she waits for the right fit. 🏡

Her current home has some rowdy resident cats who just aren’t her vibe—and that’s okay. Just like people, not every personality match works out. Petunia has done nothing wrong… she’s simply ready for a calmer space where she can truly shine.

some of you may have heard this story about this poor guy stuck in a tree. a wonderful local arborist, Bear Mountain Arborist, rescued him! Options named the kitty Bear in honor of his rescuer. Bear is pretty sick and needs some expensive care. Please donate if you can. and please share his story -- maybe you have friends who can donate for him!!!

one of my friend's trapped this kitty last week. i transported her to the clinic for care. she was chipped but no one has responded to messages that she has been found, so she likely was abandoned. please share -- and if you are thinking about adding another kitty to your household, maybe this is the one!!!

This sweet girl was brought to Options in a trap, but thankfully she was safe and microchipped. Sadly, we haven’t been able to locate her family, so now Brittany is in need of a fresh start. 💙

Brittany is about 3 years old. She may be a little shy at first, but once she knows you, she blossoms into a total sweetheart who loves gentle pats and attention. 😻

She’ll be available starting tomorrow (Wednesday, 8/27) and is looking for either a foster home to help her adjust, or better yet—a loving family to call her own. 🏡💞

Joe has an ad in the Reno News and Review. My new enclosure with the corgis checking it out. This is the best money I ever spent. It is wonderful being able to sit out there with the cats!!

I did a thing!!! I wanted to enhance Stella's life. I moved her into the yellow room last week and Joe Catio came through for us, building Stella her own catio!!! I have been so excited about this. He came and measured. I went online to get the window insert, thinking i would get the same as the one in the Palais de Chat but because this window is a smaller size, it would be a custom order and would take 6-8 weeks AND would cost over $400. Joe said there would be cheaper ones and i found one on Etsy, 3D printed in Oregon and shipped to me the next day -- for $100 and some change. The dog run is not the optimal spot because well, its a dog run. but down the road i am hopeful that i can get some artificial grass to cover the dirt. Joe put up the shepherd's hooks for me and i got a solar light bird feeder to put back there -- i don't know if any birds will use it but maybe they will. and i put pots with flowers back there to make it a little less drab. i ordered solar lights to put on the bottom edge for her. they should be here tomorrow. all i can say is if your cats don't have a catio -- WHY NOT!!! Catios Reno has been a godsend for us and I am SO grateful to Joe. I'll post more pics when her lights are up!!

This is the stray i was able to trap a few weeks ago -- he has been vetted, neutered and cleared for a new home. He is super sweet and I am thrilled that he is safe now. Please consider him -- or at least share him so someone you know might be able to adopt him!!

I was able to trap this cat last week and was so excited!!! This boy has been out for a while and needed some vet attention -- Options got him all fixed up and got the nasty mats off of him -- people don't realize how painful those are for a cat! He's a sweet boy, very affectionate and is ready for his new home.

Happy 2025! I did a thing this week that ended up being a total nightmare, but i think we got it fixed. I put my landline on my cell phone.....I was trying to save a little money and I'm not sure that even happened after all that happened, but I did not want to totally give up my landline. I have had the number since 1983 and its associated with my business and various other personal accounts. But after 24 hours it wasn't working so I spent 4+ hours on the phone and then had to go back to the AT&T store for assistance again to get it set up and actually working. I had a friend in Florida call both lines this AM to be sure they were working and going to voice mail. Landline number works. Cell number doesn't have a voice message or a beep but she talked anyway and it recorded. If ever you can't do anything on the landline, you can text it (I think) or leave a message here. Technology is not my friend!
