Extremely late post, but missing Del Mar! Such a good show to gain some experience for my third time in FEI competition with some really technical courses and talented riders. Definitely some learning moments for me, but Taki was perfect as always. Kid was incredible in the 1.20 and 1.25 classic, not touching a rail all week, but his rider is a 🐢 Sale horse Hattie was awesome in the 3’ greens and for her very first derby, scoring an 83 in the Hunt portion. Thanks to Kost for being such a supportive coach and teaching me so much!
If you know me, you know this year has been a really tough one for me mentally inside and outside the sport. Been asked why I’ve been moving Kid back up in height so slowly, and it’s because I’ve been struggling with my confidence majorly this year, but I feel like I got it back this show. Progress isn’t linear and sometimes it feels like you’re on a downward trajectory, but I’ve learned you just have to keep putting in the work and be really patient and celebrate the really small wins, even if they seem insignificant. Super appreciative of my team for always being there for me 💜
