This day started out beautifully, woke early after 8 hours of sleep. Got to shovel the walk ways and prepare for my day. Spent an hour with Kitsune, playing in the snow, ❄️ her favorite 🩵.
First dog is a special needs little girl and is reactive to other dogs, I’m so happy I’ve a safe and private environment for her to get safely groomed. Next client texts me 25 minutes before their appointment that they are here, if you know my process, you know I always ask you to never be early, not even by 5 minutes. It’s disruptive and dangerous. I text him to please move out of the front spot so my pick up can safely get their dog. I don’t have time to explain the specifics. Regardless, he should be patient and wait for his appointment time. He messages again still parked in front and I’m busy trying to finish my other dog. His messages are mean and demanding. I call him to say I’m canceling now. He loses it, calls me all sorts of things and threatens a terrible review, via text. I block him, I don’t need this person to ever come back to me.
It was all upsetting but he was never patient, always coming in early. Some people just think they’re entitled and the rules don’t apply. I had to call my mom i was so upset. In summary if you hear of a wild bad review, this is it. Awesome, I put everything into this little business and try to care for the dogs the best I can.
At least Kitsune finally got her snow day ☃️🩵🐾

New Year’s greetings to my treasured guests 🐾🩵✨ I really appreciate those of you that choose me to be your dogs’ groomer, so I can love and care for them 🤗💚

Some of you know this, but I wanted to reach out about a possible new home for me and PawSpa. I nearly lost my home business due to insurance coverage. It was extremely stressful. There is new insurance in place now and I can stay working from home. However, it’s only a 6 month lease which makes me uneasy and not feel safe.

I love working from home, it works so well and i can create a safe environment for the pups private grooming sessions. I dont think i could go back to the shops with multiple groomers, it feels chaotic and i have quite a few special needs dogs who need the privacy with no other dogs or distractions.

The perfect place would be just a small house for me , my small dog and cat. I am single income so it makes it difficult to afford a lot of housing. I would also need a garage, basement or out building on the property to work out of. If it doesn’t have plumbing, I would need permission to put it in and also be allowed to have my double insured business there. It’s not a for sure move, I just wanted to check and see if anyone had any affordable options for me. Thank you for supporting my little PawSpa, it means everything to me 💚🐾

Thank you to everyone that has brought their precious dog to me to take care of, I really appreciate all the support and love of my small business (just me) PawSpa 🐾💚
However, I feel as though my soft nature has lead to me getting taken advantage of, my own fault, by offering free or highly discounted grooms. I work very hard and try to accommodate as many as I can but still remain a one on one grooming experience for each dog ( 2 if same owner). Grooming products and supplies are very expensive, and I always use quality products. I've lost quite a bit of income by not charging same day cancelations as I can't fill the spot in such short notice. As I'm looking at grooming prices in the Reno area, I am very reasonably priced especially with all that a session includes plus the privacy. I will no longer let clients make me feel bad for charging my worth. If that's what you're looking for, kindly cancel your appointment. I might be able to take on new clients at that point as well. This beautiful bouquet 💐 was sent to me by my wonderful Mom to celebrate 1 year of PawSpa at my own private studio! It's been an amazing and challenging journey having my own small business 🙌 A big thank you to my Mom, friends and clients who have helped with everything. Much gratitude to my Dad for leaving me the funds required to start up and keep operating after his passing, I love and miss you Dad 🥰. It's been 2 years since PawSpa LLC was established and I am fully booked for more than 3 months out so I can not take new clients at this time.
