Today is a very bittersweet mile marker in my reptile breeding career. After 82 days of incubation my small Spalerosophis atriceps clutch is hatching. I imported my pair from Poland a few years ago, raised them from babies, and they bred for the first time this season. Well my female laid 3 eggs then died eggbound with 4 in her. And of the 3 eggs, one didn’t have an embryo. So I’m over the moon to be hatching these 2 babies right now, but man I’m set back years on the project and that female that died was one of my top 3 favorite snakes easily. So it stings. Hopefully one of these are female so I can raise her up for the future. I’d be buying up more from other breeders in a heartbeat, but we are looking to move this year so all cash purchases are on hold for now. Hopefully there will still be some around after the move. This hobby has some super high highs, and depressingly low lows. Thought it was worth sharing since people only tend to see the good as most people don’t share their losses/failures as much.

Here’s a wacky one from my recent litter. IMG Hypo Motley Jungle RLT poss Marron, 66% het Kahl 50% VPI. The color on the tail compared to siblings makes me think Marron but there isn’t enough white around the tail to be sure. But the full body stripe could be affecting it. There aren’t any of these out there for me to compare to so hard to say. I dont necessarily need the genes for my projects but she’s so cool looking I’m tempted to keep her.

I took some photos of my Salmon Super Sun Dragon next to my Salmon Sun Dragon to help show the difference. usually people don’t claim Super Hypo, they just put possible Super Hypo. But when you see these next to each other, especially in person, it’s easy to see. The Super is brighter, less saturated, and has smaller bowtie saddles. Both are up on MorphMarket if you’re looking for a level up in the Dragon project!

I just posted this Crawl Cay dwarf boa on MorphMarket at a discount due to the slight nub at the tip of his tail seen in the last photo. Go figure the baby that eats F/T hoppers from first offering and is the first ready to go is the one with the slight flaw. But he’ll make a great little pet for someone!

Stoked about this litter! First litter from my Hypo Marron RLT Het Kahl at 8 years old. She’s maybe 5ft at most but was so thick when gravid that I thought she’d have two dozen or more babies, and instead had 10 huge babies with zero slugs and stills. I’ll take it! Dad is IMG Hypo Motley Jungle Het Kahl & VPI so the variety here is insane. I’m loving some of the Marron combos in here, going to be hard to not hold everything back.

Here is a hognose morph that really seems to be getting slept on. Pistachio. A large part of this is probably because they don’t photograph well. These photos are the closest I’ve gotten to true color representation but still not 100%. They have rust colored markings against a gray background. Until I saw this one in person at a show I had zero interest in them, but once I saw her I had to have her.

Not sure what gene combo direction I want to go with it yet, I have some ideas. If anyone on here has Pistachio gene combos I’d love to see what you’ve done with it! I’m sure there are more out there than I’m aware of, but I haven’t seen much yet.
