It's that time of year where we see most emergencies. Hopefully you do not have one, but if you do I want you to be prepared.

Most importantly, stay calm. It will be hard to do but its essential.
Second, when calling a clinic to say you are on your way please tell us/them
~ what is going on.
~ what pet is involved. If said pet involved hasn't been seen before please provide breed and estimated weight.
~ estimated time of arrival.

The more we know ahead of time, the more prepared we can be, and be quicker and more efficient at helping your pet.

Good reminder if buying flowers for Mother's Day.

๐Ÿ’ Some flowers are toxic to both cats & dogs, so while you're picking out a bouquet for mom, pick safe flowers for homes with pets!

Safe flowers are Aster, Cornflower, Sunflower, Freesia, Orchid, Rose, Baby's Breath, Waxflower, and Limonium.

โš ๏ธ Ingestion of any flower, even these more pet-friendly flowers, may cause GI upset, so still be sure to keep all flower arrangements out of your pet's reach!

Just a little PSA. โš ๏ธ

Now that Easter has passed ...

๐Ÿˆ Those of you with cats. Please keep the Easter Lilies out of reach. Per the Pet Poison Helpline, Easter lilies are extremely poisonous to cats, and just 1-2 leaves (or even the pollen) can kill a cat! Even small ingestions can result in severe kidney failure.

๐ŸถThose with dogs, please keep the Easter candy out of reach.
