As a municipal shelter, we accept animals from Osceola County only and may have a waiting list so we ask you call first when surrendering your pet. Since there are NO state laws regarding cats, we do not pick up cats. As an Animal Control Shelter, we take in stray domestic pets, accepting surrenders from our County's residents, and respond to animal related complaints, enforcing animal laws. Did y

ou know in the State of Michigan, it is illegal to permit your dog to stray off your property, onto another property or in a public roadway and a citation (ticket) can be issued for $225.00. An an additional $150.00 can be charged if your dog is found to be unlicensed. We thank you for keeping your pets safe at home and we are grateful for everyone who maintains their dog's license on their collars - as law mandates - to ensure a safe and speedy return of your lost pet! We love our pets here, and always strive to guarantee their needs are always met. We offer shelter to the weak and homeless, and a safe haven for all who enter our care. ***Claimed by owner's representative thanks to YOUR shares!!******Just arriving into our care from busy Old US-131 near the Osceola /Mecosta county line. This sweet ol gal is clearly stressed here and would prefer to be back in her comfy home. Looks well cared, just missing a collar and tags or a microchip to help her get back home. Please share in hopes that she can be returned to her owner before having to stay the weekend in the shelter.

***Claimed by owner thanks to YOUR shares!!*****Does anyone recognize this GSD that may have followed someone that was walking home to a Lincoln Ave address here in Reed City. She clearly belongs to someone as she is wearing a shock collar. Unfortunately no tags or micro chip to help her find her way back home. Please contact the shelter if she belongs to you or you know where she may belong.

My new favorite is BELL who is a 7 year old Chi/pug mix who is quiet and has the nervousness of a chihuahua. Wants to be in your lap, we were told no other dogs but she's doing fine here. Does have a spot on her tummy which may be a fatty tumor that could require removing which can most likely be done during spay procedure. A quiet home to match her nervous personality would be best for her. Has not been around children. As always we appreciate the shares to help us... help them all find homes. We have two more not yet posted as we are still in the "getting to know you" stage. Thank you friends!! We believe they all should do well with cats but can check them out during viewings in our cat room.

Resident boss lady is our CHILI who is 3 year old Chi/pug mix. Seems to understand house-training and goes outside to potty here- she definitely acts the boss. Has not been around kids, but does come from a multi dog household. More outgoing that the others but does have the small dog BIG personality. Would love to find her a quiet home where she can be in charge. Quite the diva for sure. Interested adopters of any of our current Chi/pugs may need to visit multiple times as this is quite overwhelming for them and a huge change that they are adjusting very well to.

BITSY here was recently surrendered to our care in hopes to find her a loving new home. OPEN FOR RESCUE as owner states she "could be" pregnant. BITSY is very quiet and shy and has not been around kids. She's going outside to potty, accepting our pets but is fearful and shakes. We would love for her to find someone who has experience with shy reserved dogs where she can flourish. She's very scared here so possibly a foster home environment would help her relax more. She is said to be 6 years old, and a Chi-pub mix. Apx 25 lbs - maybe a tad heavier. Quiet lil lady

Oodles for NOODLES who is looking for a quiet, loving new home! Noodles comes from a multi dog home and we're told he does not like other dogs so he should be your only pet (He was kept separate) He's about 4 years old and a chi pug mix. Has not been around kids so a senior home would suit him best. May need a belly band to start - as house training could use a refresher. We believe he has bred before so neutering and loving patience should help. ONly about 15-20 lbs, he's always happy to see us in the morning and happily wags his tail to greet us! Very food motivated too so training should go quickly. As always we appreciate the shares and will have more to come!

MISSY looking for someone to share their snacks with, and believes personal space is something invented by cats. Promises to love you unconditionally even if you look terrible in the morning! VELCRO dog here - who wants nothing more than to be in your company... And perhaps some energetic playtime too! Young 10 month old pointer/terrier mix, she WANTS to please you! Does not realize her size so older kiddos please. Looking for exercise - she promises to deliver! Must tolerate adoration, and refusal to walk past a puddle without engaging as she LOVES our kiddy pool! ****ADOPTED****Just look at that quiet wisdom! What exactly does a Guy gotta do to get outta here? DINO Mileage: unknown (apx 5 years), Condition: Mint but could loose a few pounds (shh don't tell him I said that) , Neutered and VERY House trained!!!! Someone's worked with this guy who seems to have some common sense too!! Would prefer to have a home based household - Finder states good with her kids. Looking for someone whom he can adore, and promises to steal your seat on the couch where he can be your main man! SOOO much love to give! Very handsome Pit who can be yours for a mere 25 "dolla" adoption!! Please share to help DINO find the love he is so very deserving of!
