We’re on the news! 🎥 Our Executive Director, Liam Montgomery, and Cat Clinic Supervisor, Clare Sugarman, appeared on NBC Bay Area to talk about our Furever Home Campaign! 🐾

They were joined by the incredible Oracle, a sweet blind kitten, and her very own “seeing-eye kitten,” O’Brien. 🧡 They are a perfect reminder of why our work matters.

In our new facility, we’ll be able to provide twice as many lifelines for vulnerable cats and kittens like Oracle who deserve a second chance at life. 💫

Say hello to Bumper! This sweet six-month-old torbie was one of sixteen kittens born to a group of stray momma cats in the East Bay. 🐾 The mommas raised their little ones together under the watchful eye of a good Samaritan who ensured they were safe and loved.

Once Bumper and the other kittens were weaned, they were brought to Nine Lives for medical care and the chance to find their forever homes. The mommas were spayed by our wonderful rescue partners Bay Area Cats and returned to the good Samaritan to live the rest of their lives in comfort. 👑

Bumper spent several weeks receiving treatment for ringworm before she was ready for her spay surgery. Today, she’s fully recovered and ready to find a loving forever home.

Bumper can be a little shy at first, but a few chin scratches and a tasty Churu treat will have her warming up in no time. Soon, you’ll be rewarded with kneady biscuits, soulful stares 👀 and gentle requests for tummy rubs. 🥰

🚨 The Future of Cat Rescue Starts… Meow! 🚨

We’re letting the cat out of the bag: Nine Lives is building a brand-new, state-of-the-art adoption and veterinary facility in Redwood City! 🏗🐾

For the first time ever, our adoption center, clinic, and community programs will all come together under one roof at our new Furever Home on Brewster Avenue. This milestone will double our lifesaving impact and help us save 10,000+ cats every year by 2028.

By 2028, our new facility will allow us to:
✨ Perform 10,000+ surgeries every year
✨ Rescue & rehome 2,000+ cats annually
✨ Deliver lifesaving dental surgeries
✨ Launch an affordable Wellness program
✨ Serve as a lifeline for community & feral cats
✨ Administer 20,000 vaccines each year

Meet Oracle. 🐾

At just 3 months old, she was abandoned at a municipal shelter and was hours away from being euthanized. 💔

When she arrived at Nine Lives, she was emaciated, covered in fleas, and suffering from a devastating eye condition. Our veterinary team rushed her into emergency surgery, and though she lost both eyes, Oracle’s life was saved.

She now faces weeks of recovery and the challenges of learning to navigate the world as a blind kitten — but she is safe, loved, and finally has the second chance she deserves. ✨

Oracle is just one of over 600 kittens we’ve rescued already this year. Every life matters. With your support, we can continue to save vulnerable kittens and give them hope for the future.

Meet Biscotti Bandit! 💛

This six-week-old kitten was abandoned in a box outside our adoption center in the middle of the night. She faced serious medical challenges and even needed emergency surgery. Our team made her a tiny diaper out of masking tape and a cone from a paper plate — and through it all, her fighting spirit never dimmed.

Biscotti Bandit is just one of nearly 600 kittens rescued already this year. Every little life saved takes love, resources, and care.
