Yesterday was nothing short of incredible. 💙🐾
As part of the Champions for Pet Health initiative, Nine Lives was proud to provide entirely FREE spay & neuter surgeries, vaccines, microchips, flea treatment, and preventative care for cats and kittens across our community — including owned pets, rescue cats, and community/feral cats who otherwise may never have received lifesaving veterinary care.
Thanks to the extraordinary support of the La Russa Rescue Foundation, Maddie's Fund, and BISSELL Pet Foundation, our team was able to:
🐱 Perform 73 spay and neuter surgeries
💉 Administer hundreds of vaccines
📍 Implant dozens of microchips
🩺 Provide flea prevention, wellness treatments, FeLV/FIV testing, fluids, nail trims, ear care, and additional medical services
🐾 Help both friendly owned cats and feral/community cats through targeted TNR efforts with ear-tipping and preventative care
The day included everything from pediatric kitten surgeries and cryptorchid neuters to pregnant spays, community cat sterilization, rescue partner support, and advanced preventative medicine.
None of this would have been possible without our phenomenal medical team, led by the incredible Dr. Ramirez, whose dedication, efficiency, and compassion helped make this one of the most impactful clinic days we’ve ever had.
“Every surgery today represents generations of suffering prevented. Every vaccine, every microchip, every community cat helped means a healthier future not only for individual cats, but for our entire community. High-volume, high-quality spay and neuter saves lives on a massive scale — and seeing so many people come together for cats today was incredibly powerful.” — Dr. Ramirez
To our volunteers, veterinary staff, rescue partners, trappers, fosters, and supporters: thank you for helping us prove what is possible when a community comes together for animals.
This is what lifesaving looks like.
Let’s save lives together. 🐈💙
