Dogs have a wider field of view than humans—220-290 degrees compared to our 180 degrees. They are also very perceptive of and can be easilty distracted by Movement.

If you're working with a young puppy in the socialization period or an adolescent it is even more important to let them process their surroundings on THEIR time, not ours.

Bringing a mat and a chew and taking a seat in a new environment will work your dogs brain and help their nervous system get used to distractions faster.

Sometimes less really is more!
