I am posting this pic to prove a point. When Sadie initially came as a puppy for grooming, she hated it! She had to be on meds from the vet to calm her during the grooming process. It would take both Paul and myself to just complete a shave down on her. I'm happy to say, Sadie now comes in unmedicated and is a doll for grooming. She just lays there, as you can see. The key to this, Sadie is on an 8 week schedule, so she is constantly being exposed to the grooming process. This helps desensitize dogs to the process. Also, I should note, I do not use treats for reinforcement for grooming. Please, keep your grooming dogs on a consistent schedule, for their sake!
