🐾🚨 June is National Pet Preparedness Month! 🚨🐾

Emergencies can happen when we least expect them. From severe storms and power outages to unexpected medical emergencies, having a plan for your pet is just as important as having one for your family.

Make sure your pet's emergency kit includes:
✅ Food and water for several days
✅ Medications and medical records
✅ Leash, carrier, and identification tags
✅ Recent photos of your pet
✅ Contact information for your veterinarian and emergency hospital

At Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, we're here when you need us most. Our emergency and critical care teams provide expert veterinary care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, so your pet never has to face an emergency alone.

Being prepared today will leave you protected tomorrow. 🐶❤️🐱

🐾 Meet the GP Doctor: Maryanne Anastasio, DVM 🐾

Dr. Anastasio brings a wealth of experience and heart to our GP team! While she’s now thriving in general practice, her journey started in the fast-paced world of emergency medicine, where she spent her first 10 years caring for critical patients at top hospitals across RI, NY, and PA before finding her home at RBVH 5 years ago. Though she loves General Practice, the ER will always hold a special place in her heart.💙

What does she loves most about GP? Building lasting relationships with her clients and caring for their beloved pets like family.

Dr. Anasastasio has quite the pet family of her own at home:

🧠Brain – 17-year-old orange tabby
⛵Boats – 5-year-old DSH
🐕Hazel – 3-year-old Cavapoo, pictured here looking pretty as can be
🐶Joanna – 4-year-old French Bulldog

Some fun facts about Dr. Anastasio: she's a former D1 soccer player AND track & field high jumper, she loves hiking, camping, skiing, and gardening and she is always sure to have good book nearby.

If she hadn't been a vet? Simply put, there was no plan B, being a veterinarian has always been her dream, and she can’t imagine doing anything else.

We’re so lucky to have Dr. Anastasio, who is also an Associate Medical Director at RBVH, as part of our team! 🐾💙

🎉🐾It's a Celebration 🐾🎉

This week, our team came together to celebrate an incredible milestone--40 years of dedication, innovation, teamwork, and exceptional veterinary care for pets and the families who love them.

Staff enjoyed a festive Food Truck Fiesta featuring delicious bites from the Mezoco Taco Truck and sweet treats from the Scream Ice Cream Truck . Creativity was on full display with colorful sidewalk chalk art, fun decorations, and plenty of laughter and camaraderie shared among colleagues and friends.

Beginning in 1986(WOW!), RBVH has grown through the passion, expertise, and commitment of our extraordinary staff. From lifesaving medicine and advanced specialty care to compassionate support during every stage of a pet’s life, our team continues to make a difference every single day.

Thank you to all of our doctors, technicians, assistants, client service representatives, administrators, and support teams, past and present , who helped build the legacy of Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Thomas Trotter, without whom RBVH would never have begun, and who teaches all of us everyday what hard work and commitment to client care really looks like. And lastly, thank you to the clients and pets who have trusted us for 40 amazing years.

Here’s to the next chapter of excellence, compassion, and teamwork!

💙Meet Dakota 💙

At just 3-months-old, this sweet Lab mix, recently adopted from a nearby Tractor Supply Puppy Rescue Event, had his very first wellness visit with GP Veterinarian, Dr. Tom Hart, and judging by the pictures, it may just have been the start of a lifelong friendship.

Dakota quickly decided Dr. Hart was one of his favorite humans, and trustingly rested his head on Dr. Hart's arm as if that's where it belonged all this time. Early visits like this are about so much more than vaccines and routine care, they’re about building trust, comfort, and a bond that grows stronger through every stage of life.

Over the years ahead, Dr. Hart will be there for Dakota’s wellness exams, growth milestones, healthy habits, and all the little moments that help him thrive. And Dakota? He’ll keep showing up with those happy puppy eyes and wagging tail.

Here’s to a lifetime of compassionate care, loyal companionship, and the special connection between a beloved pet and the veterinarian who helps keep them healthy every step of the way.

💙Feel Good Friday💙

When Charli recently experienced a recurrence of an injury she previously had surgery for three years ago, her family knew she needed help quickly, but they also wanted to avoid the added stress of an ER visit for their anxious girl.

That’s where our Virtual Urgent Care service at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Ryan Leder made all the difference.

From the moment Charli’s family requested an online appointment to connecting with Dr. Leder, the entire process took only about 20 minutes. Through the virtual consult, Dr. Leder was able to thoroughly assess Charli and help get her started on medication to keep her comfortable, all while Charli relaxed safely at home, blissfully unaware she was even “at” the doctor. 🩺🏠

“Dr. Leder was thorough in her assessment and there was no additional stress on Charli who didn’t even know she was being seen by the doctor! I would highly recommend a virtual visit to anyone who is looking for a stress free way to have their pet seen by the doctor.”

Charli is now preparing for surgery this week with Dr. Ryan Ford, who also performed both of her previous surgeries.

Stories like Charli’s remind us how valuable accessible, compassionate veterinary care can be, especially for pets who may struggle with the stress of traveling or waiting in a hospital setting.

Thank you to Charli’s family for trusting us with her care and for sharing their experience. We’re wishing Charli a smooth surgery and speedy recovery! 🐶💙

To request your dog or cat's virtual urgent care visit, visit our website at https://www.redbankvet.com/. Please note- the Urgent Care Consult Requests are only bookable between 8:00am and 4:30pm.

Nothing means more to our team than knowing pets and their families feel supported, cared for, and confident in the care they receive. Building trust with our clients is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to care for so many beloved companions like Brandy. 💙

This week, we proudly celebrate National Veterinary Assistant Appreciation Week and recognize the incredibly hard working and compassionate veterinary assistants at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital!

Our veterinary assistants are the heart of patient care, providing comfort to pets, support to families, and assistance to our medical teams every single day. Their dedication, teamwork, perseverance and love for their patients help make everything we do possible.

They know what dog will only go outside if carried. Which cat needs to eat under a blanket. Bruce the bulldog isn't taking his medication? That's because you aren't laying next to him, don't you know he will only take it if you lay with him? A veterinary assistant knows....they always know.

To all of our veterinary assistants: thank you for the care, skill, and compassion you bring to RBVH. We appreciate all that you do and are grateful to have you, and all your crazy specific patient knowledge, as part of our team.
