On Saturday, June 13, team members from Red Bank Veterinary Hospital were honored to attend the re-dedication ceremony of the U.S. War Dog Memorial in Holmdel, NJ. The beautiful and moving ceremony paid tribute to the extraordinary service and sacrifice of our nation’s military working dogs and their handlers, past, present, and future.
The U.S. War Dog Memorial, originally dedicated on June 10, 2006, features a bronze sculpture by renowned artist Bruce Lindsay depicting a kneeling soldier alongside his loyal canine partner, mounted on a black granite base. The memorial stands as a lasting reminder of the courage, dedication, and bond shared by military working dogs and the men and women who served alongside them.
Representing RBVH at the ceremony were Jordan Clarke, Dr. Thomas Hart, Dr. Tom Trotter, Denise Mihalic, Carol Olea, proudly pictured here with Aaron Stice, U.S. War Dogs Association War Dogs Care Coordinator, along with Chris Willingham, President of the United States War Dogs Association. Not pictured, but also present were Dr. Garrett Davis, one of our board-certified surgeons, who has provided care to several of the war dogs, Dr. Rick Glass, and Dr. Peter Chapman.
Red Bank Veterinary Hospital is proud to support the United States War Dogs Association and its mission to honor and care for retired military working dogs. Through our ongoing partnership, RBVH has provided specialized veterinary care and treatment to retired war dogs, helping ensure these remarkable canine veterans receive the medical attention and quality of life they deserve after years of dedicated service to our country.
The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by military working dogs and their handlers, and RBVH is grateful for the opportunity to play a role in supporting these heroes long after their service has ended.
