A call to action for justice! I have down here helping care for the animals for months. I was at the rescue site and saw how bad the conditions were. Please read the info below and call.
The Blue Ridge Liberation pigs are the reason we are asking you to act.
More than 160 pigs were pulled from a situation that should never have been allowed to happen. This was not a small rescue. This was an immense operation requiring emergency care, vetting, neuters, spays, testing, transport, housing, feed, bedding, and constant coordination.
Some of these pigs were so medically fragile that they may not have survived much longer without intervention.
Blue Ridge Liberation got involved because of what we found out. We found out that pigs were hungry, sick, scared, and living in horrific conditions. We found out that Amy Mullins was responsible for their care.
When we found out, we acted.
Amy Mullins was responsible for these pigs. They suffered while they were in her care.
The authorities know who Amy Mullins is. They were there before Blue Ridge Liberation ever arrived. They know this case. They know these pigs. They know what these animals were living through.
And still, we are not seeing the accountability these animals deserve.
There is a great team working behind the scenes to push this forward. People are trying to make sure this does not get swept under the rug.
We have contacted the state veterinarianโs office, county commissioners, state representatives, state senators, and House representatives. We have followed the channels that are supposed to exist for situations like this.
Unfortunately, we are not getting anywhere.
So now we are asking the public to help.
Please call the Burke County Board of Commissioners at 828-764-9350.
Tell them you are calling about the Blue Ridge Liberation pigs.
Ask what is being done to make sure Amy Mullins is not allowed to have animals again.
Ask why there has not been clear accountability when more than 160 pigs suffered, when some were close to death, and when the public had to help fund the care, transport, and medical intervention these animals needed.
This is not harassment. This is not threats. This is civic pressure.
These pigs deserved better. They still deserve accountability.
Amy Mullins should not be allowed to have one single animal in her care.
