🌿 Update on Auntie Heather with Auntie Heather’s Hair of the Dog Grooming & Schedule
I want to take a moment to share a clear update so everyone hears the same information directly from me.
Over the past year, I’ve been dealing with progressive spine issues involving both my lower back and neck. After extensive imaging and specialist evaluations, it’s now clear that I’m dealing with structural spinal problems, including instability and nerve compression, not just routine wear-and-tear or muscle strain.
At this point, I’m under active medical care and surgical treatment is very likely in the near future, beginning with my lower back and followed by my neck once it’s safe to do so. These procedures are intended to stabilize my spine, relieve nerve pressure, and allow me the best chance at long-term function and quality of life.
What this means right now
• I am not currently grooming dogs
• I am focusing on medical care and preparing for treatment
• My schedule will remain limited and unpredictable for the foreseeable future
What this means going forward
• Grooming will return gradually, not all at once
• When I do resume, it will likely be:
• fewer dogs per day
• shorter appointments
• modified services
• Full recovery will take time, and I’ll be prioritizing safe, sustainable work so I can continue grooming long-term rather than risking reinjury
I truly love what I do and value every client who has trusted me with their pets. This pause and reset is about making sure I can come back healthy, stable, and able to continue doing the work I care about — not just for a few months, but for years.
Thank you for your patience, kindness, and support during this transition. I will continue to share updates as things become clearer.
💙 Heather
