🐾 Get your dog trial-ready! Join us for a fun day of scent detection practice in a realistic trial environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for handlers and dogs of all levels to experience the flow of an AKC Scent Work Trial — without the pressure of formal judging.

📅 Date: Sunday, June 1st, 2025
📍 Location: 57 Commercial St. Raynham, MA 02767
🕘 Time: Novice will start at 9am followed by Advanced, Excellent, then Masters. Start times depend on entries.

🔍 What to Expect:
~All 4 levels offered
~All elements offered: Containers, Interiors, Exteriors, Buried
~Mimics actual AKC trial format
~Hides set and runs judged by experienced scent work instructors/competitors
~Hides will NOT be nested. You can run multiple dogs in different levels, the same dog in all levels, and mix & match elements.
~Placement & Q ribbons!

Don't forget - Our Brush Up The Basics drop in obedience class is tonight at 6pm!

Tonight we'll mainly be focused on loose leash walking past distractions and greeting people without jumping. No registration is required, just come on in at 6pm and get to work with a trainer for just $20 per hour.

🐾 Self-Control Workshop: June 2nd | 6–8 PM 🐾

Does your dog get overexcited when guests arrive? Pull toward distractions on walks? Jump, bark, steal food, or have trouble settling down? If so, you're not alone, and this workshop is here to help!

In this 2-hour workshop, we’ll focus on helping your dog develop real-world self-control—the kind that teaches them how to think and make better choices on their own, not just wait for commands.

✨ What we’ll cover:
– The difference between self-control and implied control
– Practical, reward-based exercises to teach your dog how to pause, settle, and think
– Managing overstimulation and frustration
– How to reduce impulsive behaviors like barking, lunging, jumping, or stealing
– Building calm behavior around distractions (people, dogs, food, toys)

🧠 Great for dogs who:
– Get overexcited easily
– Struggle with impulse control
– Have some training but need help applying it in real life
– Need better manners in the home or in public

We had such a fun time celebrating Cinco de Mayo all week long! 🎊🐶

The activities were a hit with the dogs—treats, games, and lots of tail-wagging fun. But when it came time for photos… they suddenly had better things to do. 😅 And that’s totally fine with us! We never make the dogs pose—our events are all about them having fun, on their terms. 🐾

Even without their full cooperation, we still managed to capture some great moments—check out the highlights below! 🌮🎉

We’re thrilled to officially announce that Angela, Justin, Meghan, and Cassidy are officially the NEW OWNERS of Performance Plus K9 Activity Center.

This transition is incredibly meaningful for us — not just because we’re taking the reins, but because this place has been a huge part of our lives for so long. Angela, Meghan, and Cassidy have each worked at PPK9 for over 11 years and have been here since the very beginning — helping to build this business from the ground up. For the past 5 years, they’ve been running the day-to-day operations, so you won’t see any difference in the level of care and commitment to your dogs. We’re dedicated to keeping the same exceptional service you’ve come to expect from us.

Now, with Justin (Angela's husband) joining the leadership team, we’re stepping into ownership with a shared vision: to honor what’s been built and take it even further. You’ll continue to see the same familiar faces and the same deep commitment to your dogs — but with new ideas, fresh energy, and exciting plans to make PPK9 better than ever.

Thank you for being part of our journey so far. We can’t wait to grow with you in this next chapter. Here’s to the future — and to the dogs that make it all worth it.

Our Cinco de Mayo Containers Challenge was a success! It was a hard couple searches but the dogs had a great time regardless! Huge thank you to Kate, Ali, and Becky for all your help pulling this event off with such short notice!
