Here are 6 pet safety tips for Christmas this holiday season. 🎄

🐾 Be sure to clean up fallen pine needles regularly as they are sharp and can be harmful to your dog.
🐾 If you have tinsel or ribbon on your trees, make sure your dog doesn't consume either. They can become stuck in the intestine and cause serious illness.
🐾 Try to use unbreakable decorations and nothing too small that your pet can consume or choke on.
🐾 Be aware of the poisonous house plants for the holiday season, like holly, mistletoe, lilies, poinsettia, and amaryllis.
🐾 Protect electrical cords and flashing tree lights to avoid any chewing of cords or potential electrocuting.
🐾 Make sure your tree is well anchored and sturdy so they cannot knock it over.

Just like we get cold weather discomforts, so do our pets! 🐾 Here are just a few tips to help prevent cold-weather dangers when your pup is outside this winter. ❄️

🥾Snow booties are not only cute but they help protect your dog's paw pad from salt and chemical agents. If they don't like booties, you can always try rubbing some petroleum jelly (or other paw protectants) on their paw pads before going outside.

❄️ Towel dry your dog as soon as s/he comes inside to remove any snowballs from their feet.

🦴 Pets actually burn more energy trying to stay warm in the wintertime, so feeding your dog a little bit more during the winter can provide needed calories. Provide plenty of water for hydration.

✂️ During the winter, never shave your dog down to the skin. If they have a longer coat, you can simply trim their hair to minimize clinging ice balls. If they have shorter hair, consider getting them a coat or sweater to keep warm.
