Tick season is already here… and yes, we’re already finding them on pets in our area 🐾

With the large deer population around Rawlins, ticks are especially common—deer are one of the biggest carriers and help spread ticks into yards, neighborhoods, and trails.

In our area, the most common ticks we see are the American Dog Tick. These aren’t just a nuisance—they can carry diseases that affect both pets and people.

Where to check your pet:
✔️ Around and in the ears and under the collar
✔️ Between toes
✔️ Under the tail
✔️ Armpits (front legs)
✔️ Around the eyes and lips

Ticks love warm, hidden areas—so make sure to do a full-body check after your pet has been outside, especially if they’ve been in grass, brush, or near deer activity.

What you can do:
• Keep pets on a monthly flea & tick prevention
• Check your pets daily
• Remove ticks promptly (or let us help!)

With warmer weather and Spring Break right around the corner, it’s a great time to make sure your pets are protected and ready for the season.

🐍 Rattlesnakes will be emerging soon, so don’t forget to update your dog’s Rattlesnake vaccine.

✈️ Boarding for Spring Break?
Please make sure your pet’s vaccines are up to date before their stay.

Good news:
✅ Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines – No appointment needed
✅ Rattlesnake vaccines – No appointment needed
🕓 Just stop by Monday–Friday before 4:30 PM

📅 All other vaccines do require an appointment, so please call ahead to schedule if your pet needs those.

✨ As we step into a new year, once again we pause to honor the ones who made such a lasting mark on our hearts. ✨

Loving animals is the greatest privilege—and also the hardest part of what we do. With every wag, purr, chirp, and quiet moment of trust comes the understanding that our time together is never long enough. Still, year after year, we would never trade it.

As we do each New Year, we remember the furry, fuzzy, feathered, and scaled companions who crossed the Rainbow Bridge and now watch over their families from beyond. We are deeply honored to have been part of your pet’s journey—whether for years or for only a short season.

We celebrate the joyful moments, the silly habits, the unconditional love… and we also hold space for the heartbreak. Thank you for trusting us with your beloved family members and for letting us know when one has passed. They matter to us, too.

If love alone could keep them here forever, they would never leave. But the price of such pure, unconditional love is grief—and it is a price we pay because they are worth it.
