Stuffed roast rabbit is what’s on the menu tonight!

This rabbit was born, raised and Butchered on our farm. There’s an overwhelming amount of gratitude that I felt preparing this rabbit for my husband and I tonight. The amount of love, time and care that went into raising this meal just makes you appreciate your food a little more.

LIVESTOCK BUTCHERING PICTURED
Today was Butcher day at the farm. This was my first time butchering meat rabbits (not my husbands he’s a pro) but it went really well.
We had a few rabbits that weren’t meeting my standards and a few that were part of a project litter. So instead of flooding the market or shelters with things that didn’t meet my standard we put them to use a different way.

There’s just something so incredibly rewarding when you’re able to grow your own food. Our bodies ache from butchering 10 giants but our bellies will be full with organically grown food from our backyard.
