“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature, the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”
Rachel Carson - Silent Spring, 1962.

Very wise.

Very wise.

We were born with silence,
and as we grew up we lost the silence
and we were filled with words.

We lived in our hearts,
and as time passed we moved into our heads.

Now the reverse of this journey is enlightenment.

It is the journey from the head back to the heart, from words back to silence,
getting back to our innocence in spite of our intelligence.

Spring is coming. The trees are budding out, the tulips and daffodils are showing their pretty faces, birds are singing. It’s a rebirth, a time of gratitude. Gratitude for everything you have; not material things as much as family, friends, the ability to walk. I am grateful for my body even though it isn’t as beautiful or strong as it was in the past. Look around what are you grateful for? Write down every single thing and read it out loud over and over again. Smile there is still beauty in the world.

So it has been a few months since we learned about covid. How are you doing? Sometimes we think we need to “feel” better before we do something positive for ourselves but here’s the deal. We need to do something “positive “ to feel better. So change your negative thoughts, watch a funny movie, dance, go for a walk outside or in the mall, call a friend, learn to use Zoom, read that book, sew that dress, color that picture. Then you will start to feel better.

what a crazy year 2020 has been so far. Some bad things have happened but there is still a lot of good in the world. The fall season is coming up apple pie, toasting marshmallows wrapped in a blanket, warm sweaters, hot apple cider. Lots of things to be grateful for. Sharing holidays with family and good friends. What blessings have you received this year?

TIP OF THE DAY

For those of us that have been in the house for Too long. It is time to get out of the house and get some sunshine! Walk around your neighborhood, go to a park, walk the dog. I am not much of an exerciser but we all know the benefits of exercise so I have been walking. Also the benefit of being in the sun and getting some vitamin D. Watch out for sunburn, call and friend and have a picnic 6 feet apart, So get out there and take in a little fresh air and sunshine. You will FEEL BETTER!

Tip of the Day
Today is Mother’s day. Please remember to call your mother either by phone or video and tell her you love and miss her. Whether she lives across the country or across town. It’s ironic but Covid19 has brought my family closer. From east to west coast we have all gathered to celebrate birthdays. I hope we continue to gather like this after the pandemic is over. Happy Mother’s day to all mother’s out there. Blessings.
