It’s so hard to believe there’s only two days left of summer camp. It’s one of our favorite things to do here on the farm. I had to take a moment to walk around and see what everyone was doing. It’s so amazing to see our campers doing so many different activities at the very same time. Thank you to all our campers and families that shared their summers with us. 🚨🐴 Why We Quarantine New Horses at Autumn’s Gate 🐴🚨

At Autumn’s Gate, every horse is family, and just like with people, when a new member joins the herd, we take time to get to know them safely.

📍Quarantine isn’t about isolation, it’s about protection.

All new horses at Autumn’s Gate go through a 2-4 week quarantine period before joining the rest of the herd.

This helps us:

✅ Protect our herd from potential illnesses, parasites, or contagious conditions that may not show symptoms right away.

✅ Observe health and behavior in a quiet, low-stress environment.

✅ Allow the new horse to adjust to our routines, diet, and surroundings gradually.

✅ Build trust with our team before socializing with other horses.

🔍 During quarantine, our team provides extra TLC.
We monitor temperature, appetite, manure, and overall demeanor. It’s also a great time for vet checks, farrier work, and dental care if needed.

🛑 A Quick Note for Visitors:
We kindly ask that all guests and riders:

➡️ Do not approach or pet horses in the quarantine area.

➡️ Avoid touching gates or equipment marked for quarantine use.

➡️ Wash hands or use sanitizer after visiting the barn and before interacting with other animals.

➡️ Talk to a staff member if you’re unsure which horses are in quarantine.

🌿 The safety, health, and happiness of every animal at Autumn’s Gate is our priority, from the friendliest pony to the gentlest giant.
