🚨 Immediate Foster Needed for Hank 🚨

The other day, we received a report of a dog who had been abandoned. When we arrived, we found a sweet senior boy wearing a shirt on an extremely hot day. As we carefully removed the shirt, our hearts sank. Hidden beneath it were serious injuries to his back end.

It’s clear someone was trying to conceal what had happened to this gentle soul, but despite everything he’s endured, Hank has shown nothing but kindness and trust.

The good news is that Hank is now safe. His wounds have been cleaned, he’s receiving medication, and he’s already on the road to recovery. What he needs most now is a quiet, comfortable place where he can heal and be surrounded by the love he deserves.

Unfortunately, due to our current shelter situation and reliance on outside kennels, we are not able to house Hank during his recovery. We are urgently searching for a foster home willing to open their heart and home to this deserving senior boy.

Hank has been through enough. Let’s show him that his story doesn’t end with abandonment—it begins with compassion, healing, and hope.

If you can foster Hank or would like more information, please contact us as soon as possible. Even sharing this post could help us find the person who will give Hank the chance he deserves. ❤️🐾

On June 2, 2026, Officer Pilant responded to a call regarding a deceased doe and an orphaned fawn. Upon arrival, Officer Pilant, with the assistance of Officer Wright, was able to safely locate and capture the young deer.

The fawn, affectionately named "Lucky," is now receiving specialized care and is doing well. Thanks to the generosity of Harris Farms, Lucky has access to fresh goat's milk, which is an important part of his care and recovery. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Deputy Trowbridge of the Eastland County Sheriff's Office for assisting with the delivery of the milk.

Lucky is eating well, adapting to his new surroundings, and is expected to continue thriving under attentive care.

This successful rescue highlights the dedication of our officers and the strong partnerships within our community. We are grateful to everyone involved in helping give Lucky a second chance.

Stay tuned for future updates on Lucky's progress as he continues to grow and recover.

🚨 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

Let’s talk about Parvovirus.

Unfortunately, we are currently seeing an increase in cases of canine parvovirus (parvo) within our community. Parvo is a highly contagious and potentially deadly disease that primarily affects puppies and unvaccinated dogs. Because of this outbreak, our facility will be unable to accept any dogs for the next 45 days while we work diligently to contain and eradicate the virus from our shelter.

To help combat the spread of parvo in our community, we will be offering low-cost parvo vaccinations by appointment only for just $10 per dog.

Parvovirus spreads easily through contact with infected dogs, contaminated surfaces, food bowls, shoes, grass, and even human hands or clothing. Early detection and vaccination are critical.

⚠️ Please watch for these signs of parvo in your pets:
• Severe vomiting
• Bloody diarrhea
• Loss of appetite
• Extreme lethargy or weakness
• Fever or low body temperature
• Dehydration
• Sudden weight loss

If your dog is showing any of these symptoms, contact a veterinarian immediately. Early treatment can save lives.

We know this temporary closure may be difficult, but protecting the health and safety of the animals in our care and throughout our community must come first. We appreciate your understanding, support, and cooperation as we work through this outbreak together.

📞 Vaccinations are by appointment only. Please contact us to schedule.

Remember our very skinny friend Albert? When he first came into our care, he was heartbreakingly thin and in desperate need of love, nourishment, and stability. Thanks to the compassion of everyone who supported his journey, Albert has gained significant weight, regained his strength, and truly blossomed into the happy dog he was always meant to be. He even became the sweetest foster dad to some of our newest pups!

Today, Albert took the next big step in his journey and transferred to our amazing friends at Dallas Pets Alive!! We have no doubt this handsome boy will steal hearts instantly and find his forever family in no time.

Watching dogs like Albert transform is why we do what we do. Thank you to everyone who believed in him, cared for him, and helped give him a second chance. His story is proof that with patience, love, and compassion, healing is possible. ❤️
