A post I hoped to never make, at least not for a couple more years :

Our Sully unexpectedly passed away today at age 10.5, after being in perfect health under a month ago, seemingly having developed severe symptoms of leukemia in the past two weeks (I say seemingly because leukemia cant actually be diagnosed without going to a bone marrow specialist, but everything else was ruled out).

Playing with all of your dogs made his life so happy. I will always remember that he helped so many puppies and dogs who hadn’t been around other dogs before warm up to being social, since he was just so darn approachable and friendly. We were so, so lucky to have the world’s most agreeable dog. Sully was the goodest good boy.

He will be up at Rainbow Bridge waiting as a friendly face when the time to reunite with any of his earthly friends comes.

I know this page is inactive, but I just want to shout from the rooftops to all of sully’s old friends, that sully passed his test to be certified as a therapy dog today! We are so proud of him!

In a very unexpected turn of events, a couple weeks ago we decided to sell our house, and given the current real estate climate, it’s already under contract, so we are going to be out of this house that most of your dogs have visited by the beginning of may. It’s been a real whirlwind and I’m so sorry to anyone I have had to cancel/recommend alternatives. We will still be watching our doggy buddies through mid April, but then sadly our dog sitting business will be taking an extended (maybe permanent) hiatus.

I will miss so many of your pups. I hope we can still have play dates with miss Maddie, Oliver, teddy, rigi-man, lamby, Bella, the phoebes, and so many others that we’ve loved having as temporary parts of our family.

I’m going to deactivate this page since I get a ton of messages from potential new clients and I don’t want to waste their time and efforts, but please don’t hesitate to text me at 973-975-9295 if you ever want to arrange a playdate or anything. We won’t be far, but we won’t have a fenced in yard sadly.

Can’t forget the happy ladies we had over here a couple weeks ago in the snow. Poor Ellie seemed too old to be out walking down the stairs in the snow, but she actually loved it ! I think lying in the cold snow must have eased her aches joints.

Quite a lack of posting lately ! Sorry! Still coming up with the game plan for having a newborn this summer, so not actively advertising for new clients, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t still super happy to have our visitors over every week. Mr permanent-puppy Oliver is always a favorite over here.

Whew it’s a full house this week, just like with thanksgiving. So many people traveling for holidays, so so many doggy visitors (all of the golden variety yet again!). The goldens seemed to briefly discriminate against the doodle, but ultimately accepted his “foolish curly poodle hair” (I’m just quoting them of course).

Merry Christmas to all the wonderful families who let their doggies be part of our family throughout this past year. I honestly miss each of them and hope to get more time with them (some of them starting tomorrow 😆). Our family will look a little different starting next June, because we are expecting a baby girl (a human baby girl)! This might complicate the dog sitting in June/July/august, but we will be prioritizing dogs that have stayed over here before whose behavior we are most familiar with and comfortable with, and who are already comfortable being here so hopefully a crying baby won’t spook them too much. Things will be relatively normal through the springtime !
