Attention Clients!!!
I am getting a lot of questions/ worries about dog behavior changing during this crazy time with social distancing.
1) We know dogs sense our emotions. The laughter, crying, so we can most definitely expect them to sense when we are anxious and worried! Which I'm sure EVERYONE has experienced at some point since this ๐ฉ started. Find a way to relax and let them be apart of that.
2) Are you antsy from being cooped up at home? Guess what, so are they! Remember your puppy needs mental stimulation and excercise just like we do. Go for a walk, play fetch, give them a doggy puzzle, teach training commands!
3) Don't forget, your dog needs structure and boundaries. YES, take advantage of the extra cuddles and time you've been given but remember you are the leader. If you ask something, make them follow through. Don't coddle them or let them take advantage of this time by allowing bad behavior to continue.
4) If you are worried about them being anxious or destructive when you go back to work, keep a small routine. Though I have been inside most of the time my animals are not by my side 24/7 getting constant attention. They need to be independent and ok on their own. Give them breaks from kids and chaos so they can have "me time" too.
5) Allow them to be dogs!!!
