Rescue Express is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2015 by MGM Animal Foundation that provides free transport buses to animal rescue organizations helping move animals from overcrowded shelters to communities with more adoption availability. Rescue Express transports thousands of homeless animals annually from overpopulated areas and high-kill shelters in California to receiving organizations and

adopters in the Pacific Northwest and Canada who find them forever homes. All transports are offered free of charge to approved rescue partners, therefore Rescue Express relies upon the generosity of public contributions in order to provide this free life-saving service. Our fleet includes three 40-foot school buses that have been converted and outfitted to safely and humanely transport upwards of 200 animals on each trip. Five carrier sizes are offered to allow all breed sizes and litters of puppies and kittens to ride comfortably on their journey to freedom. Right now, it looks like steel, sparks and a bus.

Soon, it will have heating, air conditioning and secure shelving—giving an established rescue organization the capacity to safely move more dogs and cats farther toward safety.

Rescue partners can make the bus their own or put it into service as a red Rescue Express bus. Either way, its purpose is the same: create more room to save lives.

Rescue Express is looking for qualified rescue partners with direct relationships with overcrowded shelters—and the foster and rescue network needed to move animals to safety.

These are animals running out of time. Many are facing euthanasia simply because shelters are full.

We provide free leased buses to approved nonprofit partners who already have the pipeline, people, and placement network in place to transport shelter animals into foster care, rescue programs, and loving homes.
