And then I wonder why I’m so tired at work… 🤔🫣

No matter where I hide or mount my cameras my flock makes it their sole mission to peck, stomp, and destroy them. But I will prevail (eventually)! RIP Ring camera.

Obsessed with my 11 chicks/7 pullets from Simply Feathered Acres! Chicks are 6 weeks old and thriving. I can’t resist her Olive Eggers and already have another dozen in the incubator 🫣

This little Silverudd hatched with her exterior toe curling under her foot (on both feet). She was unable to stand and would try to scoot around the incubator. We used waterproof butterfly closures to stabilize the feet and secure them in the correct position. Day 1 she stayed in the incubator with a friend, day 2 in the brooder and could stand, and by day 3 she was walking easily. Last video was taken at 7 days old.

Sorry my camerawoman/helper was a 5 year old! 😆

Update on the cracked Wheaten Ameraucana egg that I sealed with candle wax: She hatched on May 18th and is the sweetest fluffy cheeked pullet! I was so surprised when she piped and zipped and hatched without any assistance. To be honest, I don’t often try to repair eggs cracked in shipping but now I’m a believer! Have you had any success with sealing cracks?

This beautiful Wheaten Ameraucana is from Mojo Homestead FL Official

These are the vision chicken facts I think about most often! I wish I could see UV, 300 degrees and have one eye for distance and one for close up 😆 Featured new 2026 pullet “Willow” in this piece because I CONSTANTLY catch her third eyelid on camera - she’s aptly named since she came from a Beak and Feather “Wood” egg.

So excited to hatch 12 Bella Hen chicks from this beautiful dozen (plus extras) sent all the way from Maine to California. Could they possibly be any cuter? 🐣
