Fetch-A-Cure just completed its 14th year at Game Fair. Fetch-A-Cure is a dog game where they run down a hill, jump in the water, fetch a Dokken waterfowl dummy and return to their owner. The game is timed by a digital scoreboard. The five fastest dogs have a run off at the end of each day for a daily winner. All six daily winners return on the final Sunday of Game Fair to crown a overall Game Fair
Champion. The daily winners get a bag of Kinetic Dog Food and the overall Champion gets a years supply of Kinetic dog food.
The Four Points Retriever Club a division of NAHRA (North American Hunting Retriever Association) runs the event. Club members volunteer their time each day to run the event. Game Fair allows the club to donate ALL proceeds and donations to a cancer patient. Past recipients have been police officers, firefighters, veterans, and children. This years recipient is Sarah Mann a retired firefighter and currently working in the investigative field. Sarah was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma that has spread to her lymph nodes. Sarah is currently undergoing treatment.
This years daily winners were:
Lou Dessellier and Ode,
Megan Lee and Raven,
James Sturme and Lindy,
Joe Willen and Tilly,
Alexa Sather and Tucker,
Sarah Bridigare and Sutton.
The overall Champion was Louis Dessellier and his dog Ode taking home a years supply of Kinetic dog food. The fastest times are usually around 15 seconds. This year we raised $1394.00 for Sarah. We will present a check to her shortly.
I would like to thank the sponsors Game Fair, Kinetic Dog Food, Dokken Dead Fowl Trainers, and the Four Points Retriever Club. If you would like to donate to our recipient or help with the event next year contact Terry Strege Regional Director for NAHRA at 763-682-5624 or look us up at
