A little confidence building with Maple at the park.

Back with more cutie pie Maple! Her awesome owners were already using the prong collar for leash walking so the past couple days I have just been working on her learning to move with the leash and give to prong collar pressure for her other commands as well. She is picking up on it pretty quick and will be ready to move to the Ecollar soon.

Meet Maple!!! She is a 9mo old Golden here to work on some confidence building and basic Ecollar foundation. So far she is a really sweet girl and I am so looking forward to working with her. I loooooove working with dogs between the age of 6-10 months. It is such a great time to lay a foundation. They generally are figuring out the rules and boundaries at this age but are old enough to retain a lot of information. While yes they are still goofy puppies at this age it really sets them up for long term success.

I am extremely saddened to say that yesterday Sheila passed. I don’t even know how to explain the grief. All of my dogs have been a huge part of my life but Sheila changed my life. She lead me to a career that I didn’t see coming. She took me from the path of veterinary medicine to the world of dog training. Oddly enough she did not help with the pet photography as she was alway up to something crazy so looking back I seem to have more videos of her than photos. She was an incredible dog with a personality that was unmatched by any dog I had ever met. She taught me so much and helped rehab countless dogs with a demeanor that couldn’t be trained it was just a natural born gift. To say I am going to miss her would be an understatement. She had a life full of adventure. I am going to miss you my crazy girl thank you for everything you taught me.

This cutie is Freyja. She is spending time here for a 3 week board and train. She is 6months old so she is just hitting that adolescence sass. She is really smart and a little spitfire but soooo much fun to work with.

Another outing for Dizzy, this time we went to Tractor Supply. Tractor Supply is great due to the variety of distractions. Another benefit is its indoors, On this particular day it was windy and cold out 😖

Little trip to the hardware store for Dizzy. I like these stores because there is a lot of distractions and noises but nice wide isles to create space if needed.

Mica is nearing the end of his training. We went to tractor supply today and a photo with the skeleton chicken was a must!

Mica has arrived for a 4 week Board and Train. He is a pushy guy that knows his size! However he is also a total goof. We will be working on some basic manners while he is here. Stay Tuned!

Well our board and train break is over, and Aurora is the first dog as we get back in to the grove. Aurora can be dog and human reactive and is overall alert of her surroundings. We will be working on Aurora not being as stimulated by her environment and teaching her that she doesn’t have to be on alert all the time. So far she has been settling in great and I will be excited to share her progress. (P.S I know her Ecollar slid down in this photo so don’t come for me ok.🤣)
