Gunner first came to us as a puppy and he’s been the same dog ever since.

Solid. Clear-headed. Easy to live with.

A lot of that starts with good breeding and it shows with him. He’s the kind of dog you notice right away.

This is exactly what we like having at Taylor Made Working Dogs. Large breeds, serious dogs, and owners who want a place that actually understands them.

Not every boarding facility is built for dogs like this. Ours is and we love it.

This is what most people get wrong when searching for a protection dog.
They confuse high drive with unstable energy. They’re not the same thing — and mixing them up is how you end up with a protection dog that can’t actually protect you.
You want drive. Drive is what makes a protection dog a protection dog. But drive without stability, without the right temperament, without proper training — that’s not a protection dog. That’s a liability.
A real protection dog has to be able to do this. To decompress. To exist peacefully in your home. Because a protection dog that’s wound too tight, too stressed, too “on” all the time — isn’t protecting you. It’s just another thing you have to manage.
Clif is a protection dog. And right now, he’s just relaxing. Because that’s what a properly trained protection dog does.

“Look, ever since I started board and train at Taylor Made Working Dogs in San Diego
 they got me out here following rules and stuff. Apparently I’m becoming a personal protection dog now.
I didn’t even ask for this.
First they rolled my favorite ball right past me. Then one of my favorite girls jumped over my back — and I’ve got a lot of favorite girls. Then Kris had the audacity to kick my ball — my favorite thing in the whole world — right in front of my face.
I didn’t move once.
Not gonna lie though
 I kind of feel like a different dog. A cool dog. A very cool dog.”
