Please spread the word! Spike is STILL MISSING as of Apr 11, 2025, last seen in Omaha, NE 68104 near seward st omaha although could be 72 dodge st. He was stolen while I wad at work

Update: We are still without Spike, our dog and it's getting harder by the day. He's such a blessing to us and we need him in our family. English bulldog mix, white and tan with tan tail and white tip. We are searching today going to every street and asking for anyone's help or any advice on how we can bring him back to us. On 72nd and Cass st. Omaha my oldest son said he was taking Spike on a walk and 2 people ran up on him and the man threatened him and grabbed Spike. I reported that also to police and update them as often as I can. If anyone in that area has cameras please review if you can. We need our Spike. We miss our walks and all the love he shares with us and I hope he isn't being mistreated. I am praying fervently bc only God knows and whoever has Spike knows. And I trust our Father. Please help reunite with him. He is part of our family and we are hurting bc we don't know where Spike is.

Description: Tan and white. Tan tail with white tip. Black collar. Very sweet and may be shy and scared right now. He smiles and he's about 45 lbs. Medium build. Believe he may have been stolen or harmed but praying that we will be reunited soon.

This week alone, at least two more rescues in our area have announced their departure due to lack of funding, donations and volunteer support.
This not only applies to rescue groups, even though it happens more so with animal rescue, but it is affecting every small business and nonprofit in this country.
I personally made the decision to not pursue a rescue license for the next year for Helping Hand for Animals.
My decision was based mostly on my age, health issues and the third, being the economy.
Where we lack in financial fundraising, I try to make up with my personal funds via paychecks, credit cards whatever I have so that we don't fall too behind on vet bills and making sure that the animals in our care get what they need.
I am far from being rich. I live in an old dilapidated home and my car that breaks down about every two weeks but because I am far from being rich, my needs are minimal so the priority of my personal funds can go to the animals in our care when we come up short on donations.
Not many can run a non-profit like that and not many should. I do not recommend.
It isn't healthy and it is tiring but it's what is needed for small non-profits such as ours to survive.
We are down to 6 rescue dogs that we hope to find homes for by the end of the year.
However we will not stop helping whenever possible. We will just be shifting gears by trying to assist those wanting to surrender their pets and burden remaining shelters and rescues.
Once we get most of our animals placed, we will focus on creating a donation system to help with pet food, training and basic vet care.
In the meantime, I urge you to support the rescues that are closing down so they can care for the remaining animals and not have to leave them onto another overwhelmed organization.
Online fundraising for us is low.
For example, yesterday's $5 for Friday earned us $35, which saved us so that we could feed a few feral cats. Thank you !
This is why onsite fund raising is important as on-site fundraising usually raises a little bit more money, but it also requires a lot of work. And that's why volunteers are priceless.
If you are an owner wishing to surrender your pet, by way of courtesy posting, we do encourage you to stay in touch with us by updating us with new pictures of your pet every couple of weeks.
If we do not hear from you after a while, we will assume that the pet has been rehomed or hoping in our hearts, that you've decided to keep them because nobody will love them as much as you. - Rose
