⭐ VetPartners Member Spotlight ⭐
Meet Debbie Boone, Founder of Debbie Boone – 2 Manage Vets Consulting

How did you get into veterinary medicine?
“As a child I always wanted to be a vet. From the age of 5 it was all I considered doing… I applied and got a job as a PT CSR in an AAHA accredited small animal practice in Greensboro, NC. I then moved into the Hospital Administrator role for that practice and ran it for 19 years.”

What made you decide to get involved with VetPartners?
“Many of the people I had admired for years as a manager were VetPartners members. At the encouragement of several members I joined and immediately got involved with committees and special projects. It was the best business decision I could have made but it has also brought me many great friends who I highly value.”

What successes are you celebrating through VetPartners?
“As soon as I was eligible, I was nominated and won a seat on the board of directors… I loved being involved on the board for 6 years. My VetPartners network has certainly helped me share my message with the profession, especially the opportunity to discuss my book Hospitality in Healthcare.”

What are you currently working on?
“My current focus is helping new independent practice owners start out right. I love coaching them on operations, leadership and mission through my consulting business Debbie Boone – 2 Manage Vets Consulting.”

Why are VetPartners resources like the Utilization Guidelines important?
“I think the Utilization Guidelines is a powerful resource for practices… Practice leaders who would like to elevate their staff are challenged to see what exactly that looks like in day to day life. The Utilization Guidelines is that roadmap.”

We’re grateful to have Debbie as part of the VetPartners community and appreciate her continued leadership, mentorship, and dedication to advancing veterinary practice management.

⭐ VetPartners Member Spotlight

Meet Heather Prendergast, Founder of Synergie Veterinary Consulting

Today, we’re thrilled to spotlight Heather — a lifelong veterinary professional, leader, educator, and active contributor to the VetPartners community.

How she got into veterinary medicine

“When I was little, I used to tag along with my mom to the veterinarian, and every single visit, Dr. Podkonjak would let me listen to a patient’s heartbeat. Starting at age six, I’d ask the same question every year: ‘When can I come work here?’ A few years later, that dream came true. I spent my summers cleaning kennels, and from that moment on, I never left this profession. Over the last 35+ years, I’ve served in nearly every role imaginable… each step shaped how I lead, how I teach, and how deeply I care about this profession.”

Why she chose to join VetPartners

Here’s what inspired Heather to join our community:

“I wanted to be part of a community that elevates the veterinary profession through collaboration, shared expertise, and a deep commitment to doing things the right way. VetPartners represents the highest standard of integrity and excellence in veterinary consulting — a place where smart, mission-driven people come together to solve big problems and move our profession forward.”

What she’s celebrating through VetPartners

“Being welcomed into this group is a milestone in itself — a recognition that the work I’ve spent decades building truly aligns with the highest standards in veterinary consulting. VetPartners gives me access to colleagues who push my thinking, strengthen my approach, and fuel my personal and professional growth.”

What Heather is working on now

Heather shared a look at her current focus:

“I’m growing Synergie Veterinary Consulting, a full-spectrum leadership, culture, and operations firm dedicated to helping veterinary practices thrive. We take a 360° approach, elevating leadership, strengthening culture, improving operational efficiency, and building cohesive, high-performing teams.”

Her contribution to VetPartners resources

“Contributing to the Utilization Guidelines has been one of the most meaningful ways I’ve helped move our profession forward. These guidelines give practices a clear, trusted framework to elevate every team member to their highest and best use… In a profession stretched thin, true utilization isn’t just important; it’s transformational.”

We’re grateful to have Heather as part of the VetPartners community. Stay tuned for more inspiring Member Spotlights!

⭐ VetPartners Member Spotlight

Meet Sydney Bulman, Sr. Marketing Manager at Shepherd Veterinary Solutions

Today we’re excited to spotlight Sydney — a marketing leader, technology advocate, and dedicated VetPartners member.

How she got into veterinary medicine

“I graduated with a major in animal science and a minor in business. After graduation, I began working at a pet wearable tech startup… I dove right into product operations and selling innovative technology to veterinarians across the nation.”

Why she chose to join VetPartners

“My reason for joining VetPartners was a little unconventional… I watched a recorded webinar about wearable technology, and the company I worked for was not mentioned. So, I joined with the goal of meeting industry professionals and increasing awareness of my company.”

What she’s celebrating through VetPartners

“December 2025 marks five years of membership! I'm also celebrating the wonderful connections I've made, as well as my time serving as Communications Committee Chair and my involvement in the Technology Committee.”

What Sydney is working on now

“In 2025, I was promoted to Sr. Marketing Manager at Shepherd Veterinary Solutions… product adoption remains high, and we continue to receive warm feedback from users daily about the difference Shepherd has made in their businesses and lives.”

Her contribution to VetPartners resources

“During my tenure as Communications Committee Chair, I strongly advocated for a new VetPartners website… A website that is easy to follow, has good SEO & GEO, and reflects a mission is very important.”

Anything else we should know

“I got married over the summer of 2025! I remain passionate about animal health, veterinary business, and veterinary wellness… and look forward to forming many more VetPartners connections and friendships.”

We’re grateful to have Sydney as part of VetPartners and look forward to her continued leadership and innovation in our community.
