Training is about so much more than just teaching a dog what to do. It is about building trust, creating better communication, and helping both you and your dog feel more confident together. 🧡🐾

At Barks & Bonds, I want training to feel personal, supportive, and realistic for everyday life. Every dog is different, every home is different, and that is why my approach is always tailored to the dog in front of me.

My goal is to help dogs and their people understand each other better and build a bond that lasts far beyond the training session.

Boaz and I have been working together on service dog skills, and during that process it became clear he needed extra support around some reactive behaviors.

This session was filmed to document what we were seeing for his veterinary behavior team, while also working through the moment and helping him build more success in the environment.

A big part of training is recognizing what a dog needs in front of you, building the right skills, and referring out when additional support is needed. Reactivity can be complex, but with the right approach, management, and team in place, dogs can make meaningful progress.

If your dog is struggling with reactivity, staying engaged around distractions, or working through big feelings in public, I offer personalized training support to help you better understand your dog and build the skills they need.

As the year comes to a close, I just want to say thank you. 🐾✨

It’s been an absolute joy working with so many amazing people and their animals this past year — from pet sitting visits, to one-on-one puppy and obedience training, to behavior modification journeys.

Every dog in this video represents trust, growth, and a bond built along the way. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who invited me into their homes, trusted me with their dogs, and allowed me to be part of their journey.

As we head into the New Year, I’m excited for what’s ahead and thankful for all the connections made this year.

Here’s to another year of learning, progress, and building bonds — one bark at a time 💛🐶

✨ Training Spotlight: Zama ✨

Zama and I have been working 1-on-1 to build his confidence in new environments and help him work through reactivity toward unexpected noises, dogs, cats, and even bunnies.

In just a few sessions, he’s made incredible progress — learning he has more options than reacting to every stimulus around him. 💛

We’ve also put a big focus on leash manners. Zama used to be all “go go go,” pulling his way through walks. Now he’s slowing down, checking in, and enjoying the walk instead of rushing through it — such a huge win! 🦮✨

It’s been so rewarding to watch him grow, and I love hearing that everything we’re practicing is carrying over at home with his dad. He’s a smart boy and I’m so proud of the work he’s putting in. 🐶💛
