SouthEast Beagle Rescue sadly mourns the loss of one of our beloved rescue dogs in foster care, Banjo II, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge three days ago after battling health issues. 🌈🐾

Banjo was the definition of a gentle old soul — affectionate, mellow, and happiest when enjoying a leisurely walk with his nose to the ground, taking in every scent along the way like only a true beagle can. Though his time with us was far too short, he touched the hearts of everyone who met him.

We are deeply grateful to his first foster mom Rachel and subsequent foster dad Brandon for opening their hearts and home to Banjo, surrounding him with love, comfort, patience, and compassion during his time with SouthEast Beagle Rescue. Because of them, Banjo knew safety, kindness, and the warmth of being cherished.

While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing Banjo spent his final days loved beyond measure. Run free now, sweet boy. May there be endless sunshine, soft grass, and all the wonderful smells your little beagle heart could ever desire.

You will forever be loved and remembered, Banjo. ❤️

Meet Boomer!
Boomer is a sweet, happy beagle who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own after his owner developed serious health issues and could no longer care for him. He’s a fun-loving guy who enjoys toys, walks, and spending time with his people and dog friends.

Boomer is well-mannered in the home, knows how to use a dog door, sleeps quietly on his bed through the night, and does not need to be crated when left home alone. He’s also a wonderful traveler and happily relaxes in his bed during car rides.

He gets along great with other dogs and, based on his friendly personality, we think he’ll do very well with people of all ages. We’ll be testing him with kids soon. Boomer is ready to bring lots of love, tail wags, and happiness to his next family!

Meet Lacey, a playful and lovable girl with long legs, big ears, and an adorable personality to match. Lacey came to rescue as a stray from Halifax County, and she’s quickly proving what a fun and affectionate companion she can be.

Lacey loves to play, whether it’s with people, other dogs, or all by herself. She still has a little puppy energy and enjoys chasing a ball outside or entertaining herself with a pile of squeaky toys indoors. Watching her bounce around happily during playtime is guaranteed to make you smile.

She’s also a big fan of snacks and attention from her people. While she can be a little shy around cars and still gets nervous on walks, she’s adjusting quickly and gaining confidence every day. Lacey is currently a bit underweight and would benefit from some quality food, TLC, and a patient family to help her continue to thrive.

If you’re looking for a sweet, playful dog with a goofy charm and lots of love to give, Lacey may be the perfect fit for your family. @
