Pete Fricke has spent the last 25 years as an integral part of the NCSU CVM Teaching Animal Unit. Congratulations on your retirement Pete!
Pete Fricke (top row center) has always been more than the dairy manager at our Teaching Animal Unit.
In his 25 years at the CVM and 34 years at NC State — he previously worked at the college’s Lake Wheeler dairy center —Pete has brought unmatched passion and skill to his position.
Today is Pete’s last day before he enjoys a well-deserved retirement. We will always remember and appreciate his dedication to his work, his kindness and dependability.
He has always made himself available to students, especially beyond the typical 9-5, Monday through Friday. Students have always known they can call Pete at night, on weekends and during holidays.
“He has spent countless hours ensuring each student who works with the dairy cows takes the most away from it and has the best experience,” says Sara Beth Routh, TAU director. “Pete is a friend and is even family to us.”
Thank you, Pete, for your knowledge and for the mentorship you have provided for countless veterinarians now out in the field. We have some big shoes to fill.
